Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Cause rooms to very slowly heat up if anyone in engie decides to superheat the vent system.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Having any action that can be taken which will hinder one side and cause your side zero changes means it should always be done every time because you have nothing to lose. I propose we simply make it so superheating the vents is an action taken to actively kill aliens, not to passively stop them before you know they can even do this. If you could think of another way to make this work rather than slowly heating rooms, id be for it provided it keeps this action from simply being a zero effect to marines issue.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): Currently there is zero negative effects from just superheating the vent system at the start of the round guaranteeing that vent movement is already heavily restricted way before anyone knows its a thing. I am not suggesting that the rooms even heat up very fast, but that it is a slow effect making there be some reason to at least not do this just because you can or cause you are "cleaning the vents" and at the same time if you have a time where you know theres things in the vents, you could heat that system up and only have to deal with a minor amount of room heat. Likely not doing any real damage to anything in rooms untill something like 5-10 min after you heat the vent giving enough time to flush out any xeno in vents, but not kill the whole crew.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): My idea was to mess with temp, but I understand how atmos is something we try to avoid messing with in this server as it can cause massive changes to the evironment with little to no way to easily fix it and be fighting. My main goal in this suggestion is to make the action of heating vents not completely without marine consequence.

Wrong, doing so is power-/meta-gaming and can result in notes/bans. Also, the game mechanics do cause rooms to heat up.genjufens wrote:Currently there is zero negative effects from just superheating the vent system at the start of the round guaranteeing that vent movement is already heavily restricted way before anyone knows its a thing.
Some facts:
- Rooms with unwelded vents slowly begin to heat up. Rooms close to breaches (dropship crash) will heat up quicker as they try to replace the lost air. This will start cooling down the pipes.
- If the engineers did not reconnect the air supply, the supply system will stay warm for a while but people will begin to suffocate.
- Rooms with welded vents do not heat up, but will not fill with breathing air (rooms near breaches will become killzones, and nearby unwelded rooms will heat up even faster ).
- If the vents are being heated by crossing with the scrubber system, then phoron will be leaked into rooms with open vents. Those rooms will catch fire.
- If the vents are being heated by filling canisters with SM exhaust, then the engineers have to reconfigure atmos to collect more N2. If phoron was the coolant, the ship is now on fire.
