Morgue Vendor storage system.

Post by louisloftcraft » 11 Apr 2017, 09:29

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):

A storage system where dead marines can be placed into a single morgue chamber and be stored into a vendor like device placed behind it, preferably
the vendor would be placed in the outer wall of the sully to take up less room. To access the bodies all you need to do is access a monitor placed left or
right of the chamber and select a name you want to withdraw and the body will re-appear in the chamber to be extracted from.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):

It would immensely decrease the size of the morgue to a small 2 by 3 tile room or less. This will leave a more open space in the lower deck of the sully for expansion
of an existing room or just more room for marines to run around in the lower deck.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):

A small 2 by 3 room placed in the upper middle north west corner of the lower deck of the sully to maximise space. In the room would be one morgue chamber,
a monitor and a vendor re-skinned to look like it's holding status bags or coffins.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):

all you have to do is reuse items already withing the game to make this work, the only thing that might need re-working/re-skinning is a vendor to look like it's
holding coffins or dead frozen marines in status bags.

I like this idea.

Oh, also, if spriters could sprite this storage thing (no idea, how it's called):

That's would be a nice addition to this suggestion.

I lean towards a +1.

Not needed because one morgue tray can literally hold near infinite amounts of bodies.

Try putting more than one body into a morgue tray and see them magically fit in.

I think, everyone know about that, but that's a workaround, not a solution.

Yeah but having a gameplay solution to something that is barely used (I don't see a lot of people dragging dead bodies back to the Rasp, only defibbable ones) when dev time can go to something more useful will make this a low priority suggestion at best.

Well, I always see all morgue storage units full after 2-3 hours in highpop round, so, I would not call that barely used.

+0 Meh. Not really a priority, I've never witnessed a full morgue even in 2+ hours rounds. In any case, there's the incinerator if you need to make some space for more corpses.

Honestly, if i had my call, it would be nice if putting a body in a morgue would update a list that said what bodies are inside the morgue if they had their ID on. I would also like if there was a "linked" storage system, where putting people in cryo/morgue put their gear in two lists, gear that can be redistributed to venders, and odd gear, and then put those two lists in a central location to vend from or somthing. i dont know, still needs thinkin

...

But seriously, does uh, anyone know the way out?!

I would prefer the morgue being turned into a surgery center or switch around medbay to be on the lower deck.

This isn't super needed anymore since the Almayer has a HUGE morgue. Maybe as a transfer system to the morgue?
