[Xeno] You are... a beatiful... butterfly
Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Xenomorphs evolving into T3s are encased in a cocoon for a variable amount of minutes.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Marines have time to prepare for a T3 evolution should they come across one. It's lore friendly game mechanic that utilizes the core of xenomorphs' gameplay; time. Less evolving T2s are killed while they stand on weeds to evolve, Queens can know who is evolving into what and manage it with an evolution interface when it gets implemented.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): Using the lifestyle of the praetorian, we can code and sprite a cocoon stage for T3 caste evolutions when their lesser counterparts (T2) are evolving into them. In this stage, the castes encased themselves in nigh-invulnerable resin structure 2x stronger than a resin wall, to the extent that certain forms of attack; such as melee, gunsfire (low caliber bullets, shotgun blasts) and incinerator fire, are nullified. The evolving caste has the option to cancel out of the cocooning stage, and in return, they can still fight (hush, you're living, that's fair isn't it?). The cocooning process takes a total of 3 minutes for Spitting castes and Hivelords, 5 minutes for Warrior castes, and for Queens, 2 minutes (get shooting). When the cocooning is over, the T3 is covered in this resin for 2 minutes, so they're essentially fireproof, Ravagers and Queens are covered in this resin all throughout their lives, Crushers must wait for these 2 minutes to end in order for their explosive immunity to kick in or else they lose the layering AND are affected by explosives within that timespan.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): Agregrious amounts of coding, 3 sprite stages, and some examine descriptions.

You will never be as bad as the baldie who picked up a tactical shotgun while a hunter was pouncing on top of a CMO for 4 seconds, with his only response being to pace around before being decap'd by said hunter. You are not Brett Kimple, and you never will be. You are not the reason why I regular MP.

I'd shorten it to 3-5 minutes.

Yeah, nobody wants to wait 10 minutes for something like this.
Just some funny moments.

Re: [Xeno] You are... a beatiful... butterfly
I'd like to +1, but some changes should be done first.
Xenos are serpant-like. They shatter their previous exoskeleton to pass to their next. In that sence, xenos will need to morph from a size to another rather than coccoon themselves and pass to the next.
Another detail is that, your method is just way too long. I like it, but a 2+ minute wait doing nothing is INCREDIBLY ANNOYING for xenos that can't do anything inbetween.
Also, sorry to say, but due to the delay this would become more of a nerf rather than a benefit to xenos. A difference between a 20min full-evolution and a 25min full-evolution is huge. I'll go with a NEUTRAL. Still like the idea however lore-unfriendly it is. At worse make it coccon the shape of the T2 caste in a grey-er pallet and add inges of green and yellow.

CM was obviously inspired by Starcraft: Ghost opening. At least when marines takes too long to deploy.

No one wants to wait ten to thirty minutes to get surgery for one swipe from a alien.
A more lengthy moulting process for going to a T3 xeno is not a horrible idea, not only would it encourage the xeno to get somewhere safe to molt, but it could also serve as a better system to alert the Queen/Hive of someone evolving into a T3 xeno, perhaps also allowing the Queen to interject in this, or at least have a better idea that the hive now has a specific T3 xeno.

I think that xenos molt their shells like snakes rather than cocooning.
I don't like this idea because it is unnecessary. T3 castes are already limited based on amount of xenos in the hive, and by doing this you take time away from them getting onto the field, essentially killing a xeno for 10 minutes, which is of course a bad thing.

To me it's a bit gimmicky, although the Praetorian should be able to shed into a Queen. So +1 for that

Alternative idea: Xenos can spend all their plasma to use an "enter cocoon" command which hastens the evolve timer from 1 every tick to 3 every tick, but getting out of the cocoon takes time and you can't regenerate plasma while inside it.
Because holy shit, you want them to hit their evolve timer and THEN go into a cocoon?
