Remove Scream Emote from say
Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):
The scream emote is abused quite often similarly to a ZeroRP server, I suggest it's removal from contexts that don't involve pain.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
No more random screams of pain in Briefing, no more random screaming simply because the option is there.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
It wouldn't unless you're hurt, IE: how it functions already.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):
Backspace button on the segment of code that makes, say "*scream" a possibility

+1 Please! I don't know if people are hurt or just being shitters!
You will never be as bad as the baldie who picked up a tactical shotgun while a hunter was pouncing on top of a CMO for 4 seconds, with his only response being to pace around before being decap'd by said hunter. You are not Brett Kimple, and you never will be. You are not the reason why I regular MP.

Re: Remove Scream Emote from say
Would be sad to let go, but likely +1.
While I like screaming for the fun of it, limiting to only screaming while you're injured would make medical roles easier, rather than just running to your fellow marines only to find they're dying of broken hearts losing a tic-tac-toe game.
On another note, I'm quite sure since *scream counts as an emote, you're not allowed to do it while you injured within the audible emote cap. Basically, if you salute, you can't scream while you're dying. Might need confirming.
The cap might have been reverted.

Re: Remove Scream Emote from say
Perhaps, I was the Commander who had to suffer that briefing. Constant farting and screaming. The horror, as well I'll stand neutral, I love it when for instance I or other predators see that a marine just witnessed his friends death and forces a scream or just out of fear hearing "Bam bam bam (Insert marine's scream as they are trying to run or charge) bam bam bam). I find it more immersive and at times it can be abused but I like the scream emote it can be RP potential at times.YungCuz wrote:Is this gonna be like when the sound emotes were first released and the fart got removed 30 minutes into the new round

But a foolish Xeno Hunter wielder of robustness stepped forth and opposed me. Before the final blow was struck, I tore a gate of Salt of Solitude and flung em into the world of CM, and took out their Facehugger Capabilities! Now, this Xeno Fool seeks to return the favour, and undo my evil reign and of many other predator predecessors!

Re: Remove Scream Emote from say
For all my experience playing medic, I've never seen someone trolling with the *scream emote. Just alot of *medic and people screaming for "HEAL ME ASSHOLE".
But I do love my scream emote, it's fun and gives quite the RP.

Re: Remove Scream Emote from say
I don't think you very much so understood what I meant by this. The function of their being a audio scream would still exist, the option to scream via typing into say "*scream" would not. Because as I've seen it, 95% of those manual screams are in context that does not call for it to happen.Ikmalmn wrote:For all my experience playing medic, I've never seen someone trolling with the *scream emote. +1 for reasons mentioned above. While occasionally I do enjoy screaming on command I think restricting it to automatically triggering on pain, or the emote only being available if you are heavily wounded, would much better enhance the immersion and rp of the server.

I'm going to go with -1, there are too many times where I've used the scream emote and it has saved my life, such as alerting friendlies to my presence when about to die.

Re: Remove Scream Emote from say
this actually. if comms are down and you get lost somewhere, surrounded by xenos, etc, screaming is extremely usefulJonesome wrote:I'm going to go with -1, there are too many times where I've used the scream emote and it has saved my life, such as alerting friendlies to my presence when about to die.
im not calling for a medic while nested as a survivor 15 tiles away from marines

Please, yes. I'm tired of random screaming. I can understand screaming planetside, when you think you spotted something big and scary in the shadows, but constand screaming in cryo/canteen/prep/RO line/Briefing/hall to hangar/hangar/DS is annoying as fuck.

Everyone, I think, enjoy that. The problem is, that 4/5 times manually used scream used just because. Without any logical reason, rp, whatever.tuzz wrote:I really enjoy when someone appropriatly reacts to a situation with a scream. -1 from me.
