Lest We Forget. (Making the Slab of Victory more than fluff)

Post by Dirty Old Harry » 17 May 2017, 11:30

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Have the slab actually carry names of well known and courageous Marines.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Add some RP material and a nice way of remembering the fallen or simply those that deserve a place in the limelight.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): Add a whitelist where you can apply to have a single character placed on the slab, they must be dead or otherwise not currently serving the Corps. Have the whitelist handle just like the other whitelists where people comment on wether or not someone should be placed there and have it selectively for only the most bad ass of marines. No boots that once upon a time took down a hive on their own, have this like, this Marine has saved countless lives, performed hundreds of acts of bravery and honour and either are KIA or no longer serving the Corps.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): Some forum work and just have the slab updated every now and then when a load of people get whitelisted for it.

That one old man that USED to run around as Engineer building retarded table forts and developing relationships on a questionable level with sentry turrets. Now I run around as someone equally stupid, doing equally stupid shit as a Medic. Oh and Pookie, that's also me.

http://prntscr.com/grdigl I totally succeeded in that btw, it was a badass kick-flip.

No, we can't make people snowflakes and parade their ego anymore.

Maybe for the HALL OF VICTORY, but no.

I don't like cute things.

Good hunting.

No, this will rapidly turn into a circlejerk, and between the Predator and Marine circle jerks, we don't need another

Honestly, I'd rather the slab be used to recall the memory of people of the community who died IRL, as a way to reminder beloved community members who can't play with the crew no more.

Using it as a "This marine did badass shit" memorial would no doubt result in biased bullshit and create bad mojo for the community.
Sometimes, bravery comes from the most unlikely sources.
