Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):
11 Yes Votes, 0 No votes = application denied
11 Yes votes, 4 No votes = application accepted
The application that has MORE votes for NO with the SAME amount of YES is the one that gets accepted lmao
So if an application doesn't yet have 15 votes total, and you vote NO, you might actually be HELPING the application win by pushing up the total
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):
Replace it with a minimum amount of YES votes, preferably 10 since that's 70% of 15
Remove the 15 vote minimum from Commander applications

If less than 15 people vote on your app in our community of over 200 players you're clearly doing something wrong.

Re: Remove the 15 vote minimum from Commander applications
I think you misunderstand, he's mentioning that voting "no" on an application when it already has a fair number of yes votes can result in pushing it over the 15 threshold, resulting in a person who would previously get accepted, not getting accepted.Karmac wrote:If less than 15 people vote on your app in our community of over 200 players you're clearly doing something wrong.

Regardless, I sort of like it, having a minimum number of "yes" votes as opposed to a minimum total of /all/ votes is a good idea, IMO. Though it is sort of a non-problem, as generally people with bad apps don't reach the threshold at all.

Okay so this is already confusing me too much so I'll assume Noah's right with whatever he said.

Yeah, if current system works like that, it really doesn't make much sense. Also, I think, not so many people check those applications, as it could seem to be. (Me for example, I always forget to check them and vote). Something has to be done with voting for sure.

Re: Remove the 15 vote minimum from Commander applications
The system works like this:
15 votes are needed minimum or it's auto-denied.
If you don't have 70% positive votes, it's auto-denied.
An application is not "auto-accepted" if it's above 15, or if it's above 70% yes.
We still look into the history and the player before we accept it.
Those are just 2 filters so we don't waste our time on apps that won't get passed.
We also specifically say to give reasoning so we can see what people generally think.
Look through the denied apps, you'll see a handful that I've denied even if they passed the requirements because we didn't think they'd be good commanders or are shit players.
