Make girders take less time to construct

Post by Crab_Spider » 30 May 2017, 13:21

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Reduce the time to build a girder, to about 4 seconds, rather than 7.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Eh. Surviving has been a real downer lately, and I seriously think it's better to reduce how long it takes to better a standard girder.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): Well yeah. Read the title and summary. HOWEVER make girders weaker to destroy by Elite T2s and T3s, and possibly be slashable by Ancient Sentinels, and make walls take about 4 seconds to construct completely.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): Eh.
You will never be as bad as the baldie who picked up a tactical shotgun while a hunter was pouncing on top of a CMO for 4 seconds, with his only response being to pace around before being decap'd by said hunter. You are not Brett Kimple, and you never will be. You are not the reason why I regular MP.

Besides bringing realism in and wanting the construction time to be higher. What would the point of girders and walls be if they become even easier to destroy? I think the current construction time is fine, and making girders weaker, eeeh. I don't see how that would go well.

Also I doubt shorter construction times would make survivors more likely to survive much longer to be honest.

I don't really understand what this would improve. Could you expand on the benefits?

-1, you added a nerf to girders in all that.

NEUTRAL otherwise, butit could be benefitial for survivors to have it 1 second faster as a tweak.
CM was obviously inspired by Starcraft: Ghost opening. At least when marines takes too long to deploy.

I feel like this is just a girder nerf in disguise.

It isn't.

Well, Survivors rarely even build anything other than tables, barricades and making caverns for themselves in the rocks. Plus Walls and Girders are a pain in the ass now for Xenos unless they are T3 or Acid spitters. So yea, -1.

I always build as a survivor. Build around the back corner of secure storage using the medbay metal and break into secure storage

But most competent survivors build

Anyway, -1

TBH, I survive very good when I build in already secured areas like caverns. Build is a necessity for surviving but build secure places needs time and you don't have that at the start (Unless you are really lucky and the queen doesn't order the aliens to go to the other side).
