Make walls more resistant to crusher's charge.
Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): As title says, make it harder for crushers to take down walls.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Will give aliens more reasons to have a t3 with strong acid instead of another crusher, when they already have 4 of them. Slight buff to engineers too, i suppose.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): Well, everyone have already noticed how versatile crushers are. They can act like a bulletsponge, deal insane amounts of damage in combat with their stomp and long-stunning tackle, pick marines off by silently charging from 2 screens away. But, uh, i dont think people paid enough attention to their ability to smash through walls. It would've been kind of okay if marines were able to somehow tell which wall is getting smashed by such a huge monster and maybe even repair it in time, since right now crushers can crack open FOBs and all other sorts of defensive positions while being C O M P L E T E L Y S I L E N T. I'm okay with aliens melting walls, even with their strong acid that can melt any wall in 30 seconds or so, because it is possible for marines to react, but a giant rhino-looking shrek busting inside my FOB in "SOMEEE-E-E~... BODY ONCE TOLD ME!" style is ridiculous.
Make walls tougher or weaken the damage crushers can deal to walls with their charge, add a sound for it, indicating that crusher just slammed a wall, also add better visuals for damaged walls, so we could clearly see that a certain wall needs a repair.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): Coding, spriting.

Bumping, because this is not okay.
I cant imagine a rhino digging a tunnel in a mountain and then breaching a wall made of reinforced steel.

Don't have a screenshot, but I remember one game on June 3rd. When a crusher ran through the Almayer medbay. Crushing through the southern wall, and still having enough momentum to destroy all the tables and vendors outside med storage then go through the Northern wall. I couldn't determine if I wanted to get salty.. or just accept it since Marines were already on their last legs.
Do you know how long it took for that tunnel to be dug out? Cause if it took a notable amount of time and effort. Then that would seem reasonable.immaspaceninja wrote:Bumping, because this is not okay.

It does. Digging tunnels requires full momentum and with how the caves are, that's not a very easy task. Although I too find it agrevating how you can crush several objects and keep going, momentum may be mass * velocity, but this isn't how it fucking works.Garrison wrote:Don't have a screenshot, but I remember one game on June 3rd. You will never be as bad as the baldie who picked up a tactical shotgun while a hunter was pouncing on top of a CMO for 4 seconds, with his only response being to pace around before being decap'd by said hunter. You are not Brett Kimple, and you never will be. You are not the reason why I regular MP.

I was at the LZ1 the moment it was breached with that tunnel, so i dont know how much time it took for crusher to dig it, but since i've seen them destroy rock tiles in 1 charge with full momentum... A few minutes at max.Garrison wrote: Do you know how long it took for that tunnel to be dug out? Cause if it took a notable amount of time and effort. Then that would seem reasonable.
And it doesnt seem reasonable to me. I mean, "rhino that digs 20 meters long tunnels inside a mountain by bashing it with his head" sounds super silly.

rock tunnelling should be drone's job, as a menial work task, and wall breaking should be spitter/boiler's job using their enhanced acid

I'm fine with crushers being able to crush walls, but not on how the wall-system as a whole work. I'd like it to be bent over and take more damage, but also the same for doors.
Fuck glass though. Glass should be the opposite of how it is. Literally stops crushers if placed properly.

CM was obviously inspired by Starcraft: Ghost opening. At least when marines takes too long to deploy.

I play Hans Meier, your random old guy from germany.
Is this a little medic Chibi Hans slightly different from the Avatar one? --> Oh yes it is! All the credits and a huge thanks to Okand37 for these lovely marines!
