Give people, who want their characters to need glasses, the ability to not be handicapped when playing as MP, medic, doctor, combat engineer, etc.

A possible alternative to this would be to have the huds go on the mask slot instead of the glasses slot.
This is how well the CM community understands the actual military.

That wouldn't really work for docs, considering they use sterile masks (usually) in medbay.

I think another alternative is a special prescription lenses that can be attached to any of said items.

Then again, it might be easier to just code in one or two prescription huds/goggles in each department for those that need/want them as the OP proposed.

This would work just as well. Anything that allows characters that need prescriptions to use all the HUDs and other eye slot objects.
