Add blood restoring medicine to replace iron-sugar

Post by Ghodere » 18 Jun 2017, 22:05

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Add a drug that restores lost blood to replace the iron-sugar pills used currently.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Iron-sugar pills are silly thematically but serve a vital purpose in allowing medics to restore blood in conditions where an IV drip is unavailable or unviable to use. A drug dedicated to this purpose would (if desired) leave all balance and functionality unchanged while making the game a little more thematically coherent.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): Add a reagent that is potentially just 1u iron 1u sugar that restores lost blood at something approximating the current rate of the mixture, or however is desired for balance. To prevent stacking effects, iron's blood-restoring effect could be removed, and a negative reaction created between the new drug and sugar.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): Extremely simple to implement, a few new lines in the reagents file.

+1 good stuff. Iron-sugar is a bit silly. Perhaps just making it so iron sugar combines into this drug? Would be wonderful.

You know, I'm going to say -1. I find having drugs stack probably the most fun things in "medical" in its current state since it encourages experimentation and custom mixes. If anything I would love it this was just more effective and had a heavier cost, maybe requiring another chemical to make it or requiring Phoron.

I'm going with -1, simply because I find this suggestion to be a better alternative: viewtopic.php?f=59&t=11001, cause muh immershunz.

Never.

Then people would just bring that planetside and use it instead of blood.

People already bring down iron-sugar instead of blood?

So shouldn't you address that first?

That's exactly what happens currently, except they use pills of pure iron and sugar.

Exactly this. Iron+Sugar is becoming more popular as it's offering an alternative to a usually pretty damn clunky problem.

40u Iron+Sugar heals about 10% blood IIRC.

Either way, I'm indifferent to there being a dedicated blood restoration pill as opposed to a silly Iron+Sugar mix. Both would ideally work the same. So uh... +0?

I support this statement. Give iron + sugar a negative effect. It's asinine.
