Flares light Cigars and Cigarettes

Post by HalfdeadKiller » 27 Jun 2017, 19:21

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Pretty much the title. I just want to be able to light my cigar or cig with a flare.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Well, a minor benefit of having more things to light cigars and cigs with.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): not much else to add.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): code.

This should extend to flamethrowers and guns with underbarrel flamethrower attachments.

Without even breaking stride, Marshall Bowchiew picks up the flare and presses it to the tip of the cigar.
Marshall Bowchiew's eyes water as he starts to go blind!

This is kinda silly.
I'm stressing way too hard about what to put here, so I'm just gonna leave it blank.... or....

I've found the charm of SS13 is that theres all these little details you can do. There's plenty of "silly" things in SS13 already. Why not allow the flame from a stick light a cigar? Welders can already do it.

How so? It's a controlled, intense fire source. Logically, it should be able to light things on fire in a controlled fashion.

Because you'd be more likely to burn the cig to a crisp and light yourself on fire than to get a clean 'singe' light on a cigarette.

You'll probably burn some of the cigarette off, true, but you can still light it.

As for lighting yourself on fire, really? Have you used a flare before? You might burn yourself if you were stupid enough to point it at your face, but any other way would be safe.

Ah. So it is. http://colonial-marines.com/viewtopic.p ... re#p116974

Also viewtopic.php?f=59&t=5810 - this is more for like welders and stuff. The other two suggestions are for flares specifically it seems.

Yeah, I have, and I've had to stamp out would-be-forest fires several times because of them. I didn't say lighting yourself on fire was likely though; I said it was more likely than cleanly lighting a cigarette.
