Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Let people move in paincrit if it's not their legs that took the damage. I hate not being able to walk about because my hand hurts badly and you're just stuck there. It's too fucking annoying.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Makes the whole pain crit experience a bit more tolerable.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): When you're in pain crit, if the damage has been dealt to your legs/feet then you can't walk. But if it's dealt to anywhere above the groin, you can walk.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): Coding.

Honestly i support this, it makes no sense why even losing an arm would prevent you from using your legs.

-1 You would just become a pred if you were resisting to pain. The paincrit means that whatever is causing you the pain makes you feel like you want to kill yourself rather than being alive with that pain. If you have that much pain, i doubt you'll be able to walk at all.

I'm pretty sure if there are creepy bug-like lizard creatures scampering about and trying to drag you off into unknown territory, you'll give more shits about facing a terrible fate than your hand burning off.

I agree that crippling pain should knock you down, but i think the threshhold is too low, you can get put in crit from like 40 burn damage

This is what the suggestion should be. The treshold should be higher, but moving on paincrit should still be imposible.Kavrick wrote:I agree that crippling pain should knock you down, but i think the threshhold is too low, you can get put in crit from like 40 burn damage

Re: Let people move in paincrit if their legs aren't damaged
legs arent the only thing that will take you off your feet, bad damage to the groin(your pelvis and hips are critical for walking too!), chest(its hard to keep walking if your ribs have been reduced to splinters that are jabbing your heart and lungs), and head(your brains in there) can also render you immobile.
so, arms would be the only exception, i guess!
this gets a +1 from me if its applied to arm damage only
as for generally raising the paincrit threshold, thats another +1 from me too! these are supposed to be military toughboys. well, except for survivors and other noncombat people

Why can't people crawl at least?
Also the broken bones already punish you for moving anyway. Why add another punishment on top of that? Let Marines crawl if they are downed, and still give movement damage for unsplinted breaks

+1 to adjusting the levels that pain crit comes in at. You can go into it at some pretty low levels some times it can be silly. I also like the thing of arm damage not forcing you to the ground, but it seems like it would be the hardest part of this to get past.
