Start the timer for hand grenades on throw rather than on priming

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): It's releasing the spoon, not pulling the pin, that should make a grenade start counting down. This will also help with balance by preventing timing cheeses for insta stunlocking of aliens.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Aliens don't get fucked out of the middle of nowhere without any warning by the B18 spec, who will now be forced to actually use his grenade launcher

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): Cause hand grenades to not start their countdown until they are thrown or otherwise moved away from the hand

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): Code

If coders could get the marine to flash red like grenades do now when they are holding a prime grenade, excellent.

+1 either way, finally Requisitions can use their Cargo Techs for something useful as improvised orbital artillery.

Or, you could combine this suggestion with yours, which removes the warning of a grenade. This way, the combined efforts make grenades better and makes them neither too strong nor too weak.

+1, if combined with Butter's suggestion of removing the warning from grenades.

This would make sense for the M67 style grenades, but the tube ones are primed by popping off the red cap and clicking a button twice.
