Lower the Overall Chance of a Bone Break
Summary : See Title. We are a COMBAT Server with FF and Aliens with super armor. But, the server's main reason for existence is to provide fun, it is not fun when you get slashed but some T1 and end up with the RNG God giving you a Bone Break, or when chucklefuck McBaldie shoots you with AP and it results in a Skull Fracture.
Benefits : Less Salt-Inducing Wounds
Details: Lower the chances of Bone Breaks?
Implementation : Not a code guy

Re: Lower the Overall Chance of a Bone Break
The bone fractures are not RNG to my knowledge. The break threshold is a set amount. I'm not saying any numbers because the staff are territorial about that.

Re: Lower the Overall Chance of a Bone Break
The bone break number is high enough already that it's rare that a little FF will break you. Unless baldie really lays into you with the AR or SMG your bones will probably be fine. If you get shotgun'd well there's no helping that.
Rando low evo and low tier xeno also realllly have to lay into you a bit to break your bones. I think the special bone break number range that I'm pretty sure I might know of is fine where it is if its where I think it is. I don't think it would really hurt to have it buff'd but I don't see a good enough reason for it right now.

Re: Lower the Overall Chance of a Bone Break
I made this Post because, in the last 2 days, I have broken 5 Bones.WinterClould wrote:Words.
1. From AP Ammo Applied Directly to my head at full health.
2. One Mature Sentinel Slash that Broke my Right Arm.
3. One Rava Slash that cut off my Left hand ( Understandable )
4. One AP Round Applied Directly to my groin resulted in a bone break AND Internal Bleeding, at half health.
5. One FUCKING Revolver Bullet broke my left foot

it would hopefully take some pressure off the chronically understaffed medbay
if you need a counterbalance, you could make bleeding wounds worse

Re: Lower the Overall Chance of a Bone Break
What the fuck do you think happens if you get shot in a bone? That the bone is going to deflect the bullet or shell?

Re: Lower the Overall Chance of a Bone Break
The issue is access to AP rounds that are extremely good at causing fractures. I recently had a round where a baldie fired one AP round at my chest which caused a fracture, considering I was the SADAR Spec that was really annoying.
Honestly if AP rounds were more restricted in access I think the issue would be resolved for the most part, newer players see two M41A ammo types and they see one type has less of it and has a unique name (Armour Piercing) so they grab it. I've seen people take nothing but AP ammo when I check their corpse.
One or two AP rounds being able to screw over a player because a new player did not know better seems unfair.

Re: Lower the Overall Chance of a Bone Break
The baldie is an IC thing, I suggested the AP ammo reduction once and the admins closed it by telling me how to get more AP ammo, heh.
Best advice? Police your battle buddies, have your SL make everyone show what Mags they have... (show held item) or even you watch them as they get geared up.
You could use the AP argument on Engineers/Medics, etc, not doing "their job right" and it being unfair.
All in all, round will be done in a set period of time, and frankly broken bones make work and RP for Docs and Medics....
-1 from me on this! (For all my 2 cents counts for)

Edit: Prolly not a 10mm caseless tho.
I'm stressing way too hard about what to put here, so I'm just gonna leave it blank.... or....

Re: Lower the Overall Chance of a Bone Break
i dont have much issue with bullets shattering your bones
however, besides the crusher's charge and stomp, most xenos use claw attacks to pierce and slash, and still they regularly crumple your bones like paper thru your armor, while only causing small blood drips to come out of you, it feels a little backward
