Knife rig -> accessory

Post by Derpislav » 07 May 2016, 07:49

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Make the knife rig a jumpsuit accessory instead of a belt.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): It's completely useless, as a standard, marine belt can hold more knives.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): Turn it into the same class of an item the webbing/shoulder holster are.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):
Lockie 'Furry' Hughes, your local source of annoyance, medicine and Will. E. Coyote engineering. Mostly medicine. Maybe annoyance.

I agree. No reason to use them at the moment.

Yeh. Throwing knives are pretty weak anyway, and it makes sense as an accessory.

+1 I used that stuff once, never again. The prospect of holding more ammo and flares is better than holding a few knives.

There's absolutely no reason to use them as of current, so they're pretty much worthless. Might as well change them a bit so they can actually be used.

Marines almost never get webbing or holsters, so might as well give them something to fill that slot. S'not like throwing knives are any good to begin with, they're more there for the amusement factor.

Seriously this needs to happen if possible because i won't lie having a knife rig only hold 3 god damn throwing knives maximum especially as it's a belt as well is rather pathetic and just makes them completely useless as a weapon in general as the ammo capacity is awful.

+1 gives it an actual use. Ive never used it and i've never seen anyone else use it due to its abysmal carry ammount and the low damage of throwing knives. Maybe now the both of them will actually be used

+1 honesty would be more usefull as a accessory instead of a belt, especially with only 3 slots for those throwing knifes...

I'm neutral only because if it was an accessory, there would be no reason for every marine not to carry one.

Except throwing knives are dubious at best.

If you can fit normal combat knives onto it then perhaps it may be the first real counter to Crushers since the SADAR was buffed.

It should be able to fit both types of knives, and it should have 5 slots.

SLs also get webbing, but at the same time, there would be no reason not to wear one. Then again, marines die with most of their equipment on them.

As someone who uses 2 throwing knives in the armor every round, I would very much like to see this implemented, so I can have more knives, or something

make it so that they embed in aliens and slowly dissolve over time and during this time the xenos weed heal is slowed, would mean they wouldn't be shit and would serve a purpose without doing lots of damage.

Fun fact: Throwing knives embed in xenos; preventing their ability to vent-crawl. Meaning a throwing knife and a service pistol can be a viable doctor's self-defense setup.

Also, +1 because free accessories.
