Marine Law Code
Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):
Crimes in real life are met with code, and I figure, even though it's not necessary, it may add more immersion to the experience if implemented ingame.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
It would most certainly lessen the response time, maybe save lives in cases of murder or manslaughter.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
1. It gives us a quicker alternative then saying the entire crime
2. It would actually be a good thing if MP's get hastled for not knowing the code, it has to do with experience. Half the time i'm MP i'm stuck with an officer he goes on and breaks the law himself.
3. Depth creates interest. It would likely give a competitive instinct pushing MP's to focus more on being right and knowing the job.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):
Instead of "somebodies murdering in the cafeteria" (the atypical response if not more drawn out and time wasting) it could be "10-16, cafeteria" (10-16 isn't the code for murder but you could change it, you know what I mean)

Eh this is just going to confuse people on the most part and cause abuse to the players who may be good MP's but don't understand the system.

I don't understand how you think it'd cause abuse to MP's. I mean you're insulting something that's used in real life and for a good reason.lcass123 wrote:Eh this is just going to confuse people on the most part and cause abuse to the players who may be good MP's but don't understand the system.

+1, wouldnt be that hard to learn a couple of numbers. lowers the time taken to report a crime.Everyone will know the code for a riot at requisitions pretty soon if its added.

Nice for fluff, and occasionally sounding cool. I doubt anyone will actually use it, as most stations have numerical codes for crimes in Space Law, and I have NEVER seen anyone actually use them, but all it would take is a minor change to the text of marine law, so why not?

Re: Marine Law Code
Paradise has code numbers for breaches of space law, so this wouldn't be too hard to slap on.
So, uh, 1+, as they say around here.

+1 for codes.
Here are some combine codes that are used in our HLRPG game. It doesn't have to be that complex though.

Re: Marine Law Code
You know what, I'll write up a UCMJ thing so we can stop calling it "MARINE LAW" but it'll be actually Uniformed Code of Military Justice, with codes and articles.
