Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):
Have an actual Flag to put at a FOB.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
Immersion
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
Like a place-able flag (Preferably you can also carry it around during battle).
The Requisitions office will give the marines the flag(s) once FOB and enemy contact has been made.
The Rule for RO would be not to give it out in first deployment.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):
make a gif sprite of a flag.

You forgot to fill it out, but I see where you are going with this.
A regiment standard bearer might be a cool thing to have.

I'm getting a strong Red Badge of Courage vibe here.
While I like the idea, I have reservations about the how it fits in. Why would the Colonial Marines bring a combat standard down with them on a rescue mission? Especially to a place that doesn't belong to them.

Place it on bridge. In case of full scale trench warfare CO will be able to take it out.

They Don't, I assume actual navy ships would at least have a Flag on board the vessel. They won't necessarily bring it down the first drop.
They can bring it down once an FOB is established and Hostiles are known.

That's a fair point. My resting concern is how to handle it.
We both know the flag is going to make it into the drop ship during initial landing some rounds. It's inevitable.
How would you expect staff to enforce that it remains on the ship until first contact? That's my worry.

+1 Perhaps it's in the CO'S room or the XO'S room. Perhaps have a flag per squad maybe? It be the USCM flag, though, I love the idea of having a flag in general.

I was thinking The Flag(s) would be held at RO, and the RO can control when the marines can deploy the flag on the ground, The rule for the RO would be not to hand out the flag before the FOB and hostile contact is made.
If marines ask for the flag on the first drop the RO would just say no.
Maybe the Flag could even be Supply Dropped with a Beacon.

+1, because this is a kickass idea from the start.
Also, don't forget to let Cargo order more flags.
Adding in the ability to drap a flag over a casket would be kick ass for burials "at space".

For the record, even though they are called FOB's, what we actually construct are nowhere near the quality or scale of an actual FOB (and more a step below a COP).
I never saw a FOB/COP that didn't have an American flag somewhere on it, even shitty ones that had only been up for 72 hours or so.
It makes sense that if someone is making a COP for an unknown deployment they would bring a standard with them, partially for morale, partially for identification by 3rd parties, and partially for unit pride.

Fuck that, I'd love to be a standard barer, carrying a flag with me everywhere I go and improving morale with my presence alone.
It would make me feel like I'm contributing and not holding my squad back by being a grunt who can't get kills.

Often I see marines lose battles because they're not going their hardest, they're like "fuck this we're going to lose" so they retreat as soon as the enemy starts to push. We need either music that plays in game or other cool morale raising stuff (like flags/banners
