Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Have laser sights be a new attachment for marines to work with.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): No real benefit besides maybe different weapon attachment combinations.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): The Laser sight would fit on a gun like any other muzzle attachment (Honestly I have no idea about guns, please correct me if i have failed horribly) and would provide a small accuracy bonus, I'd imagine it being similar to an RDS in the way that provides accuracy but a bit less then that as it's not a scope.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): Coding and New sprites.

When the muzzle attachment is the place where much more attractive attachments go (extended, bayonet, barrel charger), I doubt that many people would basically want a duplicate red dot sight on their rifle.
-1 from me, purely because I don't see a use in a 'small accuracy boost' - that's what the RDS is for.
Now if laser sights actually put a small red dot on the tile you're currently aiming at.. haha, that'd be nice but its impossible I think.

Yes, It'd literally just be an RDS but in the muzzle slot in terms of accuracy but this means you can make different combinations with attachments, which provides more variety and experimentation for each round.
Also yeah, I'd be down for the small red dot on the tile you aim at.

+1 laser sight is lore.
Perhaps replace the quickfire with lasersight? The current quickfire looks like an acog scope.

We need like a Side attachment slot for the guns tbh because that's where the laser sight would usually be.

+1 for the idea if not the implementation.
With sniper rifles having it so that their chance to miss within 3 or so tiles is dramatically increased by default, I'd say it is possible to code a laser sight so that firing within a certain distance (2-3 tiles) would have an accuracy bonus. That'd be how I would implement them, anyways, then just keep the number of laser sights rare to balance it out.
But we also need an attachment point change. We need a side rail attachment for flashlights on rifles, and we could share that spot with a lasersight. Basically there is no reason for any long rifle to not have a flashlight on it.

neutral.
if you feel like it you can make it work akin to the predators' whatever gun they use, their aim mode is the three laser dots on a targeted sprite, could work like that

Bump because the world of Cm requires more attachments.

+1 because I much prefer a small buff with no repercussions than a moderate buff with repercussions (the extended barrel).
+100 if every shot is actually an IR targeting laser that summons orbitals.

I want to be able to point it at a colonist and randomly yell at them to get on the ground. Bonus points if the there's a laser sprite on them.
Troublesome, as usual.

I actually had an idea for a laser sight that would lay a line of red lines on the tiles that you clicked towards, showing the exact bullet path for a few seconds. For efficiency it would only be visible to the person firing it. I never got around to coding it though.

Unsure of what it would do outside of looking neat.

Essentially attachment wise it'd act like a Red dot sight but on another slot as well as look pretty swell, which would allow for new attachment combinations.

Since I usually use accuracy builds unless I'm running a shotgun, I like the idea BUT, I feel like nobody would take the extended barrel if this does get implemented. (Although nobody takes it anyway)
+1 regardless.
Just some funny moments.

I'd love to see many more attachments get added to the game, I love the idea of class customization and people building their weapons to work with their play style.

-1. It would do the exact same thing as the extended barell, rds, foregrip, and stock. Its really not needed.
