- Indeed, I was a Secondary Admin on Aurora, staff for about a year until I recently retired due to burnout, and I used to be an admin for a fair few Italian and English TTT servers.

Did you play any of the previous Colonial Marine servers?
- Nope.

What are the 3 biggest servers you play on besides CM?
- Occasionally Aurora and Baystation. I don't play a third server.

- Nope, not anymore.

- Not at all.

- I've never used it, but I can learn how to use it.

Common Staff Situations:
Write a description of what you would do in each of the following situations. Do not write on the same line as the situation - use the space below it or make space as needed. Failure to do this proves your inability to follow instructions and your application will be automatically denied.

1. A player randomly shoots someone at round start and MPs have detained him.
- If there's no escalation, I'll PM the guy and ask what the shooting was for. In case it was an accident, then I don't need to note them, just tell them to use the safety or be more careful, I'll let the MPs sort it out. In case it was done on purpose, I'll tell the dude about escalation rules - if this is his first offense, I'll warn them. If this is his 2nd+ offense, then I'll have to escalate to a ban.

2. The ship has a breach to space and a bunch of players have died or are dying as a result.
- The Almayer does not get breached anymore. If this is a Predator SD breach, leave it. If this is a bug, get an Admin to patch up the hole and heal those who got killed or wounded by it.

3. You see a player walking around the ship naked and clearly lost.
- Get a Mentor to help them. If the Mentors are all busy or there aren't any, I'll do it myself. I'll talk to them about whether or not this is their first time, and help them towards the prep room and tell 'em how to play the game.

4. A player is being very rude to you in Adminhelps and requesting to speak to an Admin+ staff member.
- If they're being unreasonably rude, and they keep being rude after I ask them to quit it, I'll escalate the punishment a few notches higher than it was going to be. I don't see the harm in letting them speak to an Admin+, however, they have no right to this and the punishment likely won't change.

5. You notice a player with a name that doesn't fit our naming rules. The player is arguing that: They've used the name for several years, no one has told them to change it before, and that they didn't know it was a rule.
- I'll PM them, tell them the rule and tell them to give me a valid name to change their name to so I can get an Admin+ to change it. Those two reasons are not an excuse for them to break the rules.

6. You see a Maintenance Tech running around in armor and carrying a rifle. The security level is green with no threat present.
- Mostly always an IC issue, unless they're metagaming defenses post-evac. I'll PM them about metagaming and tell them to put the stuff back.

7. You see a Squad Medic performing surgery on the planet. He claims it was because there were no doctors in the FOB.
- This is not possible anymore, although I recall this was ruled as powergaming. I'd PM them about it and escalate the punishment as needed based on their notes.

8. The round is stagnating. There are 30 marines and 4 aliens. The marines won't leave the ship, and the aliens won't attack. What would you do, to "encourage" the sides to engage each other?
- It's possible for me to SM the current aCO to tell them to push with some IC fluff thrown in, or send a Queen Mother message telling the Queen to fight to the death, however I am still a moderator. I would likely ask an admin to do it in a fancier way (ARES announcements).

9. The round ends, a MARINE starts shooting a hostile CLF member and the CLF member Adminhelps complaining he was killed after the round ended.
- Not an issue, hostiles are valid to shoot after EOR.

10. A marine is running around disarming, punching and stealing gear at round start.
- IC issue, unless it's getting into roundstart shenaniganry level or there are no MPs in case the situation is getting out of hand. If it is, I'll PM them about it and escalate the punishment accordingly, likely to a ban if this is the second offense and so on.

11. A marine has killed another marine. When you ask him why, he said it was because the other marine had punched him.
- I'll PM them about escalation rules - they can't pull a gun in a fist fight. I'll escalate the punishment based on their improper escalation notes, likely a ban on second offense and rejuv the other marine.

12. An issue arises that requires Admin+ abilities.
- Call for one on msay, if there aren't any on server call for one on Slack.

13. There are minor racist comments going on IC. 9 of the 10 people are laughing and RPing but one player gets offended and Adminhelps about it.
- Minor racism is an IC issue. They have IC means to deal with this.

14. A marine opens fire at round start in briefing killing multiple marines and instantly logs off.
- Very obvious griefer. I'll ban them for 7 days and file a perma request, then rejuv every injured marine - I'll get their ckeys by asking them in OOC to ahelp if they were caught in that.

15. You see a player playing a xeno larva/chestburster run towards the frontlines and die.
- This is against the rules, combat larvaing isn't allowed, I'll get their side of the story first. If it's their first offense, a heavy warning will suffice. If it's their second, I'll jobban them from Xeno.

16. You see a xeno memeing, saying AYYLMAO, REEEEEE etc in hivemind chat.
- Memeing is not fine anymore. I'll PM them and tell them to knock it off. Escalate the punishment based on their LRP notes.

17. A xeno player calls the shuttle a "dropship". A different xeno player complains to you that it's metagaming/failRP to call it a "dropship".
- Not an issue, Xenomorph language is the translation of what the Xenomorphs say in English.

18. A Command staff player at briefing near round-start mentions there are aliens on the planet.
- This is metagaming and they wouldn't know this, I'll PM them and tell them about the fact that they don't know what's on the planet. I will then make an OOC announcement telling the marines to ignore the aliens comment, then deal with the punishment.

19. A Marine kills another Marine on the EVAC Pod to take the last spot and claims it was RP as he was saving himself.
- This is quite logical ICly, I'll say that if there was enough roleplay or threat this is an IC issue. Otherwise, I'll PM them and tell them to not do that again, but I'll be lighter on the punishment considering that this is a fringe case.

20. You see a fellow staff member give wrong information in an Adminhelp or incorrectly enforcing a rule.
- I'll ask them if they're sure about what they're saying, and I'll give them the correct information in the first case. In the second case, I'll tell them that I think they're wrong, why they're wrong and I'll bring that up to the managers so they can have a better talk with them than I can.

20a. You see a fellow staff member abusing his powers in-game.
- Take screenshots and logs. Contact their manager. Don't speak up in msay about it.

21. You see a player talking in OOC chat about what he did with your mom last night.
- Don't care. If it starts to somehow get bad, I'll ask another moderator to deal with it.

Any additional information you'd like to add?
- My retirement on Aurora was mainly due to burnout, and the lack of population during lowpop meant that I could effectively not play anymore, so I had little choice. This won't be the case here, as I'm still hooked on the game and there isn't a lack of population ever, and I'd rather put my efforts in moderating on a server I can still play and still like.

However, because we're on the council together, I still have to ask you some additional what if's cause the application is out dated. And because of our personal relationship, I have to give you somewhat tough nuts to crack.

1. You are observing a round, and a player has ahelped "THE SYNTH HAS GONE MAD AND IS KILLING MARINES LEFT AND RIGHT WITH A MACHETE." You notice the synth is going around attacking heads of every marine they can find with a machete. It is a normal round, and no admins have given the synth any type of event. What would you do?

2. A xeno runner is scouting for the queen, and every time they find marines they say "OH GOD OH FUCK THEY'RE AT X LOCATION." and doing this constantly. Another xeno ahelps with "Yo tell that runner to shut the fuck up and stop being a meme." You contact the xeno in question and he says "EMERALD BLOOD SAID I CAN SAY OH GOD OH FUCK AS LONG AS I DONT SPAM IT LEAVE ME ALONE I DIDN DO NUFFIN!" What would you do?

3. Another moderator is on, and so is a trial mod. They are arguing back and forth in OOC about a question another player asks regarding rules. The trial mod comes back and says in OOC "FUCK YOU MODERATOR X, EMERALD BLOOD SAID THIS WAS IT, YOU'RE WRONG!" What do you think you should do?

About the application itself: answers look good, really good. I have no extra questions for now.

1 - While whitelist issues are usually left to us council members, if a synth is blatantly griefing by going ham they should be treated like any other griefer. Sleep them, aheal those who were griefed and ask them what the shit they were doing. After hearing their side of the story, give them a severe 7 day ban for griefing or a perma request depending on notes. Bring up the issue to #whitelist-councils.

2 - They're very clearly spamming it and toeing the line by doing that, they know perfectly well that's spamming a meme + memeing as a xeno is LRP. I'll tell them to knock it off as it's LRP, if they have any previous xeno LRP notes it'll be a xeno ban.

3 - Report this to the mod manager with logs + screenshots. It's not my place to deal with moderators doing stuff like that, however I'll tell the moderator in question to stop doing that, cause it's a pretty big fuck up. I'll try to calm them down and get them to apologize in any case.
