Medics must med evac?
What you guys think about the medics that actually MED EVACmarines with broken bones, or without limbs?
I always med evac pretty much anyone, i can't just splint his butt, fill up with tramatol and say "You're gud, go back and fight"
I know that a medic losing his precious time transporting wounded marines to LZ 2 or LZ 1 isn't the best, but i just can't splint and let him go. I mean, one broken hand or one broken arm is OK to splint, but one broken chest is WAY too much thing for me. I just don't med evac single limb fractures, or if the marine really wants to stay and fight.

On May 17, 2016, a group of farmers dug up the diary of an ear of corn named Watson. Here are his entries.
Day 76:
They took Lawrence, dear god Lawrence... They ripped him off the stalk and smeared him in butter, just like Tyler and Jodie. They shipped him off to the popcorn factory...
I wonder what his wife will say.
Day 120: My brother says the VEGANS are protesting for more anti-meat bullshit. They want more of us to die. FUCKING HEATHENS.
Day 153: The ants are eating me from the inside out. They are popping out my kernels and taking them back to the nest. I feel them moving inside me. Julia says the pesticides will end our misery.
Day 300: Sweet Release. I can hear the planes flying over now. They are dropping the gas, it feels so good, sweet release-

Re: Medics must med evac?
Being able to splint chests and heads is the biggest buff the marines have gotten in a long time. Someone else will die while you're med evacing someone who doesn't need it.
I'm stressing way too hard about what to put here, so I'm just gonna leave it blank.... or....

If a marine reaches the point where they're more splint than flesh...then they should probably evac.

Yes, i know, but med evac someone is WAY more nice than just leave him fighting.Biolock wrote:Being able to splint chests and heads is the biggest buff the marines have gotten in a long time. Someone else will die while you're med evacing someone who doesn't need it.
Splints won't last forever, sometimes the bones are going to move, and he'll sill have the annoying pain. I enjoy a lot talking with who i'm evacuating. I have a lot of RP with them. I mean, i could just stay, fight, give kelotane for a marine that got memed by a boiler. Then he would be back, more wounds... And run again with his rifle, just to get more wounded... When you med evac a marine, it's actually cool because he thinks about you worrying with him. Maybe i have this vision because i'll make medicine on college... I don't know, i just med evac anyways.

Re: Medics must med evac?
While i would not say its the BIGGEST buff, its preety darn big, most fractures were on chest and heads, which were really easy to break if someone ffed you or the alien was T2 mature+ or T3, hence taking you out of combat really easy, now you can be splint man, the man covered in splints.Biolock wrote:Being able to splint chests and heads is the biggest buff the marines have gotten in a long time. I never medivac people with broken bones, i splint them, i medivac people who DO miss limbs tho, if you miss a arm or a hand, you can't shoot for shit unless you have a gyro on your weapon, if you miss a foot or a leg, you will be a turtle.Sad_Corn wrote:What you guys think about the medics that actually MED EVACmarines with broken bones, or without limbs?

I always felt like the entire process of evaccing, getting surgery and then redeploying was never worth it unless they're going to die otherwise (busted lungs and no peri, facehugger, etc), so I usually just throw splints on.

I always Evac people. In fact, I typically bring a rollerbed with me, to make Evac faster.
As a medic, my weapon is almost never used (except self defense) and I focus on healing/evacuating.

I do the same as Apop here, though I take it a bit more extreme (because I get the urge to fight) and only play with the standard service pistol as my primary.apophis775 wrote:I always Evac people. In fact, I typically bring a rollerbed with me, to make Evac faster.

The best weapon is Shotgun+mag+recoil comp+gyro. It's very important if you want to actually evac marines.Snypehunter007 wrote:I do the same as Apop here, though I take it a bit more extreme (because I get the urge to fight) and only play with the standard service pistol as my primary.
With a shotgun fillied with buckshot, you can keep the runners/hunters away.
With a pistol, a hunter will pretty much rush and kill both medic and marine. But it's a nice tryhard set your primary as a pistol

Re: Medics must med evac?
When I go medic, I only med evac as a last resort, when there is nothing more I can do.
Guy broke his chest? Splint and provide some pain killers before sending him on his way.
Guy's lungs are busted? If I got peri, give him a shot, otherwise evac him.
Marine missing an arm? Yeah, now you gotta evac him cause he isn't gonna be much use now.
See, how I see it is that it is important for marines to keep fighting no matter what. If a marine breaks something during a vital attack or defense, you gotta get him back into fighting shape soon, otherwise the attack/defense will quickly putter out and the marines will break.
Before the splint buff, xenos would crack skulls constantly and the medbay would be overflowing with marines needing surgery, to the point that it just got excessive and made fighting as a marine difficult when all a xeno had to do was hug you and then slash your skull till it pops. Now, thanks to the buff, you aren't out of the fight due to a broken crotch anymore.
Sure, the downside is that it isn't the perfect solution to broken bones... It'll still hurt at times and in some cases will hinder you badly. However, what would you rather have? A slower move speed but being able to keep fighting on the front, or being forced to abandon the fight all together and spend 15 minutes waiting in the ER on the Sulico?
I myself hate it when medics drag me away from a fight when I am still ABLE to fight. All I ask is you mend me and bring me back to good health and let me do my duty as a marine. Don't just go "Welp, broken chest, gonna send you back" and then do NOTHING about it. Hell, I even had doctors not even bother using medical supplies to make sure I was STABLE, just dragging me back and then expecting me to survive the trip up to the Sully.

Re: Medics must med evac?
I've been medevaced for having a broken hand, people need to get their priorities straight, a medic's job is to keep you IN the fight, not out of it. Otherwise we'd just have a dedicated fucking ambulance for getting people with internal bleeding back up to the Sulaco, even though planetside medical has QC and bandages.

If you don't evacuate people who have multiple fractures or hand fractures. Expect to see them dead 20 minutes later.apophis775 wrote:I always Evac people. In fact, I typically bring a rollerbed with me, to make Evac faster.

My primary is usually the SMG when I'm medic.

And dont forget to put ammo in first aid kits because that's logical.
