No, but for reals - if someone has screenshots, or recorded footage of the brief defence, please share!

I think Marines should get a 30-60 second warning about the shuttle's expected crash location before it collides there and gibs everyone inside; lets them avoid excessive casualties (especially for a place like Medbay) without giving them too much time to prepare and camp.

That would defeat the point of it being a surprise.

A 5 second warning would be cool.

T minus 30 seconds to avoid instant death is still a pretty nasty surprise.

It so happen to be a predator round...I hunting around at this time which wasn't suppose to happen but eh...I missed this amazing event. You weren't kidding when there be a late in game event...GG also so glad muhreens didn't wipe out all dem xenos. I just love it...dat crash feature doe. Question...does the pod as well react the same as well?
"Young Carrier (920) (follow) hisses, "Shut up both of you or we aren't going to invade disneyland."

Long time ago, I, Ka'Torag-na Halkrath, Skilled Master Hunter Of Prey, Unleashed an unspeakable evil upon Xenos and Humans! But a foolish Xeno Hunter wielder of robustness stepped forth and opposed me. Before the final blow was struck, I tore a gate of Salt of Solitude and flung em into the world of CM, and took out their Facehugger Capabilities! Now, this Xeno Fool seeks to return the favour, and undo my evil reign and of many other predator predecessors!

My big concern is atmos related shenanigans, which can lag the server to bits or just instakill things in the area.

Winter, the Crash sites Aren't located Even close to Atmos to not Damage the Marines. They were chosen precisely so,No need to be Worried about It.

The atmos, will cause minimal lag, as it doesn't disable any of the airlocks. Also, the breach is intentional, as there's a shuttle sticking out of the ship.

Well, with this new system, I feel that Sulico defenses are dead now.

Which is good if you ask me, because now marines will HAVE to hold the planet at all cost, or else they'd just end up getting steamrolled on their own ship.

Biggest concern is that this will severely reduce marine win rates, probably on the order of 10-20% as an absolute number (not relative to/as a fraction of the existing win rate) given how instrumental Campaco defenses are to marine victories.

Something definitely needs to be given to the Marines or taken from the Xenus to balance this out.

My new combat engineer strategies take this into account, the idea being to box off a passageway from the shuttle to Nexus using false doors, should they need reinforcing I'll do so as necessary, but considering Queen's can't just sneak onto the shuttle and launch it to fuckup late joins or some other meta reason, it should do just fine if my FOB's manage to hold out, in saying this I expect much more savage gameplay from xeno once we return to LV due to how one sided sulaco assaults will become.

And credit to Surr for giving me basically all of my plans ever.

Well, I guess it's time to devise modular defense layouts for every single area on Sulaco now. I'm really curious to see if a new meta will be born from all this.

Don't even think about building defences anywhere that isn't Medical or the Bridge, and try to plan your FOB's to counter sneaky aliens trying to launch the rasp, a good Nexus FOB with a mediocre LZ1 defence should be enough to deter most xeno, but a queen determined to abuse the power will need the LZ to be as defended as your FOB.

Feweh warned us in Mchat about the new shuttle system, but we didn't believe him

Now rasp is gibbing marines, wonderful
On May 17, 2016, a group of farmers dug up the diary of an ear of corn named Watson. Here are his entries.

Day 76:
They took Lawrence, dear god Lawrence... They ripped him off the stalk and smeared him in butter, just like Tyler and Jodie. They shipped him off to the popcorn factory...
I wonder what his wife will say.

Day 120: My brother says the VEGANS are protesting for more anti-meat bullshit. They want more of us to die. FUCKING HEATHENS.

Day 153: The ants are eating me from the inside out. They are popping out my kernels and taking them back to the nest. I feel them moving inside me. Julia says the pesticides will end our misery.

Day 300: Sweet Release. I can hear the planes flying over now. They are dropping the gas, it feels so good, sweet release-

All these changes do nothing to help the fight planetside, and the only major change(speed change) you took your donor's whining to heart and quickly changed it like a bitch.
Guys, it's balanced generals alt account!

This change wasn't basic and it was a change. It made the shuttle dynamic and made it avalible to land anywhere on the rasp when the queen calls it to stop sulaco camping. It isn't just explosions. The devs are working their asses off for features like this which are unique to just CM.

It's actually been ages since I saw a hangar camp even work, I don't think this was at all needed. I've been gibbed twice now by this stupid shuttle because there's no warning at all. Does the Sulaco really not have a basic radar? Do they not know where their own ships are? It also doesn't help that a few times we've had to abandon ship, only for the admins to bomb us to death for 'delaying the round'. It's not our fucking fault you made the Sulaco uninhabitable.
