Changes since Cloning

Post by caleeb101 » 23 Jan 2017, 11:05

It hasn't been more than a day since cloning was removed and I have already noticed one important change. Aliens have just started outright slaughtering people instead of hugging them because they know they have no chance of coming back that way. While it might not be on purpose, it is another BIG disadvantage that marines now face. Defibs being buffed isn't enough to counter the removal of cloning. Essentially, this was another nerf for marines. I'd like to see other opinions on this.

My own two cents:

Nothing has changed.

With the exception of above-average medics and medical staff, the majority of marines would never see the cloning bays. Those that did were most often ranking marines such as SLs or Specialists. And those same ranking marines were often targeted for decapitation, gibbing or general body-hiding anyway.

In terms of whether it's affected xenos combat? Hard to say. I've not noticed much of a change personally, as I always saw the infect/kill question to be one of necessity and odds of succeeding. Often times marines are just too difficult to capture alive and not worth the risk to try.

I suppose there is the change of actually establishing forward positions to safely defib people. But whether that's a positive or a negative I'm not in a position to guess.
