Aim for the head. It does more damage to (some) xenos.
TLDR: Go back and read it. I spent time writing that, ya know.

To add to this, be even MORE careful not to FF, since headshots ALWAYS do more damage to humans!Ordukai wrote:Aim for the head. It does more damage to (some) xenos.

Suit lights might not pack the kind of punch you're looking for, so remember to ask RO for a Rail Flash or grab a Flashlight from the Fire Safety closets you can find across the ship.
Garth Pawolski, or is it Powalski?

Masterkey shotguns are like 5-shot autoshotguns you can slap on your rifle. Nifty in a pinch.
Standing on top of cover (such as flipped tables) won't protect you from ranged attacks. You need to stand on the tile behind the cover to get the maximum effect.

As a Carrier, you can hold more huggers than any other Caste.
This allows you to be a mobile mine setter; place face huggers one to two tiles behind walls, solid airlocks, xeno walls, and more! This will slow marines down with a helmet being removed, or even being huggered if the marines are unlucky.

Preparing for a trek through the jungle? Slap some things onto your helmet, ranging from EAT Bars and Flasks to ballistic goggles and smokes. Each helmet has room for three things.

You can stack defenses by building a table piece on a seperate tile and then placing it on the same tile as a metal barricade, use this to either make a very solid defense line or protect two angles with the one tile by flipping the table in a different direction.

wrong. The SL helmet only has room for 2 things because of an unremovable camera.Sneakyr wrote:Preparing for a trek through the jungle? Slap some things onto your helmet, ranging from EAT Bars and Flasks to ballistic goggles and smokes. Each helmet has room for three things.
I made a suggestion to give it 4 slots however, if you want to find it.

You can quickly put a cig in your mouth and light it at the same time by being on help intent + aiming at the mouth. Then click on your character's sprite with the box of smokes and then lighter.

You can actually put three things on an SL helmet. In fact, I did it the last round I played, which was yesterday.Joe4444 wrote:wrong. The SL helmet only has room for 2 things because of an unremovable camera.

Re: Tip suggestions for Tip of the Rounds!!!
You can bang on cargo containers with help intent as a marine.
You can attempt to crawl down xeno tunnels as a marine.
Xenos can attempt to 'Give' a hugger to marines.
Clicking a hugger with an empty hand will cause it to leap at you.
Huggers can be hidden inside medkits, briefcases, bibles, sentry crates, etcetera.
Flare boxes fit in your pocket, armor, load belt, backpack and even webbings.
You can fit tricord injectors in your armor, Good for sparing your medic some headaches over small bits of damage.
You can place xenos of any size in the Nexus's gibber, and then turn them into a delicious burger or just take the steaks and eat them to absorb their power. Bonus points for doing so to a Queen.
Ancient Ravagers claws are sharp enough to tear down a resin wall in a single slash, Great for remodeling!
Elite Boilers and Praes have strong enough claws to tear apart girders, Queens and Ravagers do at all upgrade, Crushers do at Mature and Hunters do at Elite.
It takes a surprisingly small 7 Acid splashes to destroy a Wall or 20 to destroy an Rwall as a Praetorian. Dismantle those defenses from a distance!
You can inject a variety of easily located chemicals into a cigar or cigarette and then smoke it to get a steady supply of the chem, Tricord Cigar anyone?
Grenades, MREs, Flare boxes and other small objects can fit inside your Ammo belt, not just Ammo. Bring a fruitcake and throw it at the enemy to destroy their morale.
If you're a marine during a Sulaco defense, Consider going to prep and grabbing 3-4 M4s and setting their UGL to on, It's wonderous what these can do to stop a queen.
Sentries actually fire in a 180~ degree angle rather than a 90 as some people think. Two sentries next to one another can do a surprising job of covering each other.

As a squad engineer you can hack your own prep vendor to gain access to a single Super-Cell that has 20,000 power as opposed to the 10,000 of a hyper-cell.

Re: Tip suggestions for Tip of the Rounds!!!
Serious tip for AP ammo.
The difference between standard magazines and Armour Piercing magazines, is exactly what it says on the can.
AP Mags have a better chance of piercing the high Armour values of T3 aliens and elite-ancient Xenos, but do a bit less damage than the standard rounds as a result. They also negate most human armor and have a high chance of dealing enough damage to break bones or even tear of limbs, so make sure you aren't firing these at your allies, or they'll be very dissapointed in you.
Standard mags are much better for younger and lower tier Xenos, as their low armour value means you'll be hitting a lot more often anyway, and considering AP mags do less damage than the standard round, you should always be using standard mags on targets you know you can actually put the hurt on. These also do significantly less damage to your allies and have the chance of being dodged or deflected by marine armour.

Need metal?
Don't want to waste points on metal and instead save it for that shiny plastisteel crate?
Fear not, for you TOO can get 500 + metal shipments down by the hour by following this easy tip!
Put pistols in USMC backpacks, put them in a crate, bring them back, and slowly recycle pistols into the autolathe for metal. Then stack them for 50 metal each and send them down planetside via the crate you had earlier!

Wasn't immediately obvious to me, but the M41A can be stored on your back, not just suit storage.
Also, you can wipe off facepaint by aiming at your mouth (or face?) with a piece of paper.

Don't drag Xeno corpses over mines, they will blow up and seriously hurt you along with everybody else nearby.
