You wouldn't place a mine on a space station, are you crazy?!

I think I'll probably disable grenades and flamers on the sulaco.

In such a high oxygen atmosphere, it doesn't make sense to use them, plus, the damage is a bit OP.

Gotta give Xenos all dem advantages AMIRITE?
I'd be down for marine nerfs, but you gotta make it creative! That air-sucking from the flamethrower sounds pretty rad. Baldie with a flamer fires it off into the hanger, then we watch as the atmos alarm goes off, the bulk heads seal up, and the air is filled with thick black smoke as it catches plastic cable and engine oil on fire. The last thing going through his shiny head is him hearing a shrill scream, only to look up and witness with his shiny black eyes a pair of barely visable white teeth.

Chunky salsa= researcher decides to be a hero a chunks his grenade down the hallway. The massive blast echos through the walls and bounces back, jellifying the professor, the marines, the aliens.

Bouncing balls= Claymore trips, hundreds of balls bounce everywhere, bouncing off the metal clad floor, the armored walls, the steel ceiling. Catiously opening the door, you see what used to be a squad of marines, instead of united states though, they seem to be swiss.
Gaze upon me,
for I have wandered deep into the ancient tombs of knowledge to which lie madness and sorrow, cleansing a path for all those who walk behind me...

...

But seriously, does uh, anyone know the way out?!

dumb restriction, not consistent.

claymores are an anti-personnel mine designed to use their moderate amount of explosive to spray steel balls horizontally at enemy infantry or unarmored vehicles. their little legs allow them to be set on hard surfaces such as stone and building floors. they are not designed for piercing heavy walls or vehicle armor. the pmc snipers have literal antitank rifles listed in their equipment on the wiki. the almayer's hull already withstands tons of UGL grenades, regular frag grenades, plastic explosives, hundreds/thousands of armor piercing pulse rifle rounds, and bathtubs worth of alien acid blood+puke, so put the damage to the ship argument to bed.

"but misto, what about the claymore's steel balls bounding back and hitting you?" yeah and nearly every other grenade and firearm has the exact same hazard to some degree, you going to make it impossible to pull a trigger?

"but misto, mines detect people based on ids, what if theres someone without an id up there" yeah and sentries blast people away but you can still have sentries up there, often studded on the front and sides of the dropships. have command stop sucking their thumb long enough to print off an id or live(and die) with the risk

"but misto, almayer fight is supposed to be a curbstomp victory lap for xenos" then just end the round the moment the queen presses the button to steal the dropship so we can start a new round and move on with our lives. let marines have a "we give up and leave orbit and go home in shame" button to press to end the round without needing the fuss and hubbub of escape pods. if youre gonna have gameplay have real gameplay. use your crushers to minesweep. use those pipes to bypass mines. you can do it, i believe in you. ro would rather waste his points buying overpriced black market guns than mines anyways
