What is the standard for CO whitelist?
I've been considering dropping in a CO application. The application part is easy, but the reputation part is another story. I have a couple of bans from when I was a baldie and I play at least 10 sessions a week since January. What are my chances? Can't be that hard if Xur 'Powergamer' Dergens is somehow still on the list.

Re: What is the standard for CO whitelist?
Well people have varying degrees of seriousness when judging it.
Some people want to make sure you're a perfect commander and ask you questions. Some want to make sure you're not a shitter, some want you to be robust, some just want you to be recognized.
Just don't be a shitter and put some thought into your app and it should hopefully be accepted.

Who do you play as IC? I judge everyone based on their IC character.

....Xur ''Powergamer'' Dergens..., lol. I'm on the whitelist because I have more experience and reputation than most of you players combined.

Re: What is the standard for CO whitelist?
Honestly, if you ask me, the standard for the whitelist are players that are moderately well known, can be trusted with a role of importance and are mature adults about it. It is a role to be taken seriously (well, at least when Carson isn't in charge), and thus marines are counting on you to be on your best behavior as a leader. No one likes a whiny manchild leading them, after all...
Sometimes, bravery comes from the most unlikely sources.

Re: What is the standard for CO whitelist?
I don't think the standard set very high since we have Carson as a commander. And i prefer people who are mature, decent, and not necessarily well known to be a commander. It's better when you have people like that instead of infamous toxic annoying character.

Re: What is the standard for CO whitelist?
There is a difference between a tactical commander vs a roleplay commander. There are a few white listed commanders that excel at roleplay but suck making sound combat decisions. (Cough, Carson, Cough)
Ideally a good CO will be decent at both but that is rarely the case.

You got jobbanned for disobeying orders for meta reasons, contributing to the griefing of several people.Xurphorus wrote:No smartass, nothing of the sort. I got SL banned cause I Disobeyed orders.
You will never be as bad as the baldie who picked up a tactical shotgun while a hunter was pouncing on top of a CMO for 4 seconds, with his only response being to pace around before being decap'd by said hunter. You are not Brett Kimple, and you never will be. You are not the reason why I regular MP.

Rounds with Bill Carson as Commander are always guaranteed to be memorable. Like that time he hid in the brig after a mutiny, so the whole crew broke in there and murdered him, lol

Are we allowed to threaten the ship and Marines with the act of a breach in the event of a mutiny?Jonesome wrote:Rounds with Bill Carson as Commander are always guaranteed to be memorable. Like that time he hid in the brig after a mutiny, so the whole crew broke in there and murdered him, lol

I recall USMC High Command did threaten the marines with retaliation. Afterwards, they bombed Medbay and breached the whole top deck. Was pretty funny.Crab_Spider wrote:Are we allowed to threaten the ship and Marines with the act of a breach in the event of a mutiny?

Re: What is the standard for CO whitelist?
Seriously stop commenting on everything I say dude, there was no griefing. Everything that happened was pretty much IC, admins only clarified it as meta due to how early in the round it was. Also only two people died, I also died myself during that around due to improper escalation. Me being an SL and what happened has NOTHING to do with me being on the Commander whitelist.Crab_Spider wrote:You got jobbanned for disobeying orders for meta reasons, contributing to the griefing of several people.

Did I say anything about you being removed from the whitelist? No. Now then, if you're going to think I'm targeting specifically you for everything that is incorrect or cringeworthy, you should hop off the internet, go outside, talk to some people, and understand it isn't all about you.Xurphorus wrote:Seriously stop commenting on everything I say dude, there was no griefing. Re: What is the standard for CO whitelist?
Apparently everything I say makes you Cringe, and sure I guess I believe you are targeting me specifically since you're the main fuckhole who has something to say about me. You've even made threads about wanting to grief me so excuse me for thinking that you're obsessed over me. I don't even know why you specifically have an issue with me, and so openly express it since I don't really give you any shit. I mean, I could just let the CM staff know about it but I choose not to since I believe there are ways to simply work it out. I think its you who should hop off the internet and see someone about what the fuck is going on in your mind, cause clearly you're sad and lonely about something, and targeting me is the only thing that gives you some kind of life.Crab_Spider wrote:Did I say anything about you being removed from the whitelist? Re: What is the standard for CO whitelist?
The only thing I have seen Xur do wrong as a Commander is always going for the specialist equipment early on and then going planetside, essentially acting like a mini-specialist whenever he can get away with it.
Otherwise, he's an OK CO.

Don't be a shitler
Be at least decent
Don't be a baldie
Command, not fight
Prepare to get a lot of hate for no reason.
