Marines can't defend 2 LZs
Like a lot of us, I was very excited for the new ship the staff have crafted, as well as gifting us two drop SHIPS for once, instead of a single dropship and a dingy of a pod. In fact, they made a lot of great improvements that I feel will be quite nice in the long run...
... Then I discovered that someone decided that having dropship computers for BOTH LZs was a great idea. It is not. Oh god is it not.
It is already a burden enough as is to deal with a SINGLE LZ to guard, what with xenos bum-rushing it the moment they get an opening. It had been vital to ensure that LZ1 was always properly protected during any op. Oftentimes, COs will request a squad stand present at the landing pad at all times simply due to the risk of aliens trying to rush it to take the old Sulico with her pants down.
By allowing xenos the option of either taking LZ1 or LZ2 to ride up now, we have pretty much nerfed the marines in a sense. We either are forced to set up 2 FoBs every round and have two squads standing guard constantly, or only continue to setup at a single LZ and hope to god the xenos won't bother to check the empty one.
Come on guys, isn't this asking way too much of marines as is?

Command should be able to lock ONLY ONE of the Dropships down on the Alymare. This would resolve this issue.

This. The ability to lock down one if need be would be nice, but then what happens when you have two pilots and only one dropship that's ferrying troops?Steelpoint wrote:Command should be able to lock ONLY ONE of the Dropships down on the Alymare. This would resolve this issue.

Well, currently there are a fair few activities that the PO can do, such as basketball.NoahKirchner wrote:This. The ability to lock down one if need be would be nice, but then what happens when you have two pilots and only one dropship that's ferrying troops?
Other than that, if there is a case where one of the dropships is shut down for the op, he'll have to act as a backup PO in case the other one goes missing, which is always possible knowing how sneaky xenos can be sometimes.
Or, if he wants to be productive, he can help his fellow PO with loading and unloading of supplies and wounded, creating a dropship team of sorts... Yeah, that would be nice, wouldn't it? Isn't there normally a pilot and co-pilot in real life anywho? Would be fitting for the both of them to share a ship if need be.

How resource intensive would it be to make one Super-FOB that extends from both LZs? Considering the population we got this round (plus the fact that summer is coming), I think it's safe to say we can spare enough bodies from LZ1 to LZ2.

From an engineer's standpoint the LZ's are too far away for you to secure a forward area that covers the distance between them.

Maybe just have it so Xenos can't call the shuttle down unless it is used. So marines can choose to use only one dropship and not worry about the empty pad? Perhaps.

Can you explain the fix in some detail?Feweh wrote:Fixed
You will never be as bad as the baldie who picked up a tactical shotgun while a hunter was pouncing on top of a CMO for 4 seconds, with his only response being to pace around before being decap'd by said hunter. You are not Brett Kimple, and you never will be. You are not the reason why I regular MP.

Is it possible for the dropships to go to the same place? For example you land one ship, and then it takes off after unloading and the pilot calls to the commanders that hes finished so the next dropship can land in the same place.
