I miss the days when boiler clouds would set people on fire

Post by Crab_Spider » 08 May 2017, 13:56

Now that bombards are missing alot more and spread a lot less slower, I just miss those days when I was set on fire after walking out of a bombard cloud. Hell, bring that shit back and give it a 1/8 chance of setting someone on fire and a 3/8 chance of causing oxygen damage. Please Gods! Please return that beautiful bug.
You will never be as bad as the baldie who picked up a tactical shotgun while a hunter was pouncing on top of a CMO for 4 seconds, with his only response being to pace around before being decap'd by said hunter. You are not Brett Kimple, and you never will be. You are not the reason why I regular MP.

I was so confused the first time it happened to me. I thought it might have been because I was smoking when it hit me. I passed out after like a second and some marines dragged me back to the FOB and just left me there... on fire. Then someone moved me to LZ 1 still on fire. Then I got loaded on the rasp and taken to the hanger on the ship still on fire. Someone put me in a body bag and left it open while I was still on fire. The entire time people walking by would stop and check my pulse, even though I was in a body bag on fire and husked. It was 3 hours before someone put me out with an extinguisher. On the plus side I was one badass looking fire ghost.

So directly hitting someone with a boiler cloud no longer makes them on fire?

Cool

Always wondered how a skin searing acid cloud managed to set someone on fire.

I don't care, it made me feel satisfied when Marines thought they made it out of the clearing only tone set ablaze.

Yes but having a safe in case you hit the mark but all your victims escaped is a very neat feature

Oh hey, pretty sure this "bug" still exists. I managed to set someone on fire using my bombard as a boiler a few rounds ago. However it was like only in 1 out of 10+ (too many, I didn't count) people who actually caught on fire. Poor Alpha SL.

Well, now they don't set you on fire. They just melt your skin off.

I don't care. It's just not the same...

Direct hits still ignite people, simply being in the cloud igniting people was a bug.

Pretty sure it also occurs if you are in a boiler cloud and a spitter/prae hits you with acid spit.

That's news to me. When was this changed, as I certainly don't remember it being intentional.
