I recently played CM as a survivor, and found another guy who was amazing. We worked well as a team, and made a base at the hut with the booze and the double barreled shotgun on LV... I noticed that I never really used it before and it was really fucking good, and I now wonder.... which shotgun/gun in general works best for you? And what load out do you like? Im starting to love the double barreled shotgun... but ehm. Yeah, this excludes spec weapons because those are always OP, and I am just curious about what you guys think about the weapons.

The normal shotgun is decent, the pump is annoying but it gets the job done.

Tactical shotgun is a big step above it, it has no need to pump and has a UGL by default on it, loading with either slugs or buckshot is good idea, while you can't attach a barrel charger, you will still be firing fast.

Colonist shotgun trades faster pumping for MUCH less ammo capacity, so you can inflict the hurt faster, but for less long.

Double-barrel is very good, anything that is a T1 or T2 stops being alive if all 2 buckshot hit them with all additional as well hitting (exception may be a elite spitter and such, i know elite hunters still get cucked by it hard) but reloading is a complete bitch and it only stores 2...DON'T MISS

Custom barrel however, is GODLY, its one-handed and has burst fire option, and loads about 6 buckshot/slugs, so you can dual wield these puppies and if you don't do burst fire, fire, then quickly swap, fire and vice versa, however these only appear either in hands of Mercenaries/Dutch Dozen or Black Market crate (with a very, VERY low chance, they might have removed it but i can't confirm) so you will probably never see one for months.

I think those are all the shotguns in the game right now, my favorite is either the tactical or custom barrel

M41A pulse rifle MK1. I have no idea if its actually better besides being unable to mount attachments, but I like it a lot more.

M56 smartgun just love how theres no friendly fire and how much power it has with a barrel charger.

Im pretty sure it does more damage but it is less accurate, I THINK.... but either way it sounds much cooler and looks way more cooler, so I cant blame you there

My ideal is M37 with rail light and mini flamer. Though vanilla is just as fun.

Shotty with slugs to start a rail light and a recoil comp for the fucking win. I only switch to buckshot if we are rushing caves or are engaged in the more likely event the station gets attacked lol. Also don't mind getting an mk2 paired with the shotty with a rail light and extended barrel. Making it so I can see and I have a boost to accuracy.
