Its ment to be more effective against those who dont really have armor in general so basically shredding them.
Though most of the time the people you come across are likely to have armor and xenos probably have armor too. (i mean after they had their armor changed i imagine hollowpoint would work better.)

They have *probably* negative armor penetration, but dish out alot of damage if they hit and no armor blocks

What I assume they do is additional damage to un-armoured targets.

Although they may have armour, T-1s are weaker to these bulllets are my assumption.

Additional damage to unarmored targets. Where a FMJ round will punch a hole through things, a hollow point tends to expand update impact, creating a larger hole in the flesh of the target. Great for killing people, probably not so great at killing Armored Xenos.

I imagine since
AP = Lower damage, high penetration
Normal = Average damage, average penetration
then
Hollowpoint = High damage, low penetration

In real life they're bullets with a hollow tip, hence the name. When they hit something they bloom up and cause massive damage to the affected area.

But due to having a hollow tip, they don't penetrate well, if at all. So yeah, low penetration, lots of damage. Good for marines if you're scared of FF, though if you get shot in the arm good luck living, buddy.

the cm hollow point bullets have an extremely high chance to put 'shrapnel inside the wound' that's about it, i believe

You would NOT want to move around with shrapnel in your chest head or groin.
You will never be as bad as the baldie who picked up a tactical shotgun while a hunter was pouncing on top of a CMO for 4 seconds, with his only response being to pace around before being decap'd by said hunter. You are not Brett Kimple, and you never will be. You are not the reason why I regular MP.

Hollow points are very strong against lightly armoured targets because of their nature. Armies aren't allowed to use them in real life die to how lethal they are.

Here? Take it to anything below T3, and you're going to have a shredded Xeno hide adorning your mantel.

Ff with them and the receiver will usually die a swift, painful death.

There's a reason why only Staff or Officers get these rounds, insubordination and mutiny. Hollow point bleeds you like a spread-eagled duck ready to be filled to the brim with fresh fuckin' veggies. They're suppossed to hit, detonate, scatter bloody shrapnel inside your organs or underneath your skin and make sure you diiiieeeeee!
Death, is just another part of life.
