Re: Inventory/pouch update thoughts.
After playing another few games with the new system I think they should eliminate one item slot pouches. Unless it's a holster for a pistol or something, the one item pouches are just too specific and annoying. I can't even imagine how irritating the game must be to learn as a new player now. It always seemed a clunky system to learn until you got the hang of it after a few matches, but at least it was fairly simple to work out what fit where on your inventory. Now it's very bizarre, especially since the pouches are at the bottom of the vendors. I think that pockets should be able to fit all the stuff that they fit before and they should eliminate one item pouches unless they're a holster. I would still keep the multiple item pouches obviously, but the single item general pouch just adds unnecessary confusion. That's my opinion at least.
Thank God they've been doing hot fixes though. Having no armour slots was annoying.

But I'm also not enjoying how dependent we're being made on Req. Marines already trip over their own dicks trying to get attachments and grenades, but now we go there to get decent pouches and AP ammunition, and now ALL ammunition, seeing as we can't put empty mags back into vendors. We're setting ourselves up for disappointment when Req is either understaffed or staffed by idiots.

it's not enough till marines get nerfed.lcass123 wrote:So this seems to be how the update works, they found an "issue" that nobody ever complained about or had an issue with then fixed the issue by yet again nerfing marines. Huh.

The pouch update fully replicates the experience of having a thousand pockets and not knowing where you put what.

Basically they heard how annoyed marines get when they have their attachments refused (no IC reason given really other than you are marines act like it) and decided lets make them even more dependant on req. Like what if the CO says nope no attachments AP or grenades for anyone.CrimsonAerospace wrote:This.

Re: Inventory/pouch update thoughts.
To be fair CO's were already ordering 'no AP', this just makes it easier.
Hit ammo in the prep rooms even harder, I want to see the regular rifle magazines getting exhausted so that Req becomes even more vital.

Boy, my policies of no attachments always have a reason behind. If you can't handle the pressure, might aswell apply to be a "MEDIC" and treat your patients!lcass123 wrote:Basically they heard how annoyed marines get when they have their attachments refused (no IC reason given really other than you are marines act like it) and decided lets make them even more dependant on req. Ap I can understand because of friendly fire but being a dick as a CO for the sake of it really annoys a bunch of marines, this has been happening less lately but it's still annoying and really only disadvantages the marines with little to no IC merit.Feweh wrote:Then no attachments, AP or Grenades

You don't need attachments, buck up. You don't need grenades. If you have a rifle and fellow marines, you can beat aliens if your competent and have a reaction time quicker than a snails shell.

Re: Inventory/pouch update thoughts.
If you could strap a pouch or two onto the backpack that you could access without taking it off, I'd consider it a worthy alternative to the satchel. That and a method of acquiring more M41A incendiary rounds because muh ammo and the ability to store M41A ammo in webbings are really the only thing I'd think would be cool.
I'm kinda neutral on marines being more reliant on requisitions since I'm a lowpop player and requisitions staff are usually latejoins/non existent for entire rounds as are command staff so they can't help out. But hey, this problem seems to only exist in lowpop and not in highpop, so there's that.

Just some funny moments.

Re: Inventory/pouch update thoughts.
I used to be on the "No attachments" train, but after using them for a bit they are basically a necessity.
You can't burst fire without them pretty much at all, your shots go every which way and keeping on target is night impossible. Attachments are like alien eggs, not technically necessary to win, but important enough that they may as well be required.

Re: Inventory/pouch update thoughts.
I'm curious what the new ammo refilling etiquette is. Do I wait in line to get all my mags refilled or do I leave them at cargo and grab new ones from the vendors? Also when I'm a MP grabbing discarded weapons what do I do with the magazines missing one round? Do I hand them over to cargo or leave them in prep rooms on the floor?

Can't get them refilled anywhere. Cargo might be able to refill magazines if they order ammo crates, but they might not do that as well.

You will never be as bad as the baldie who picked up a tactical shotgun while a hunter was pouncing on top of a CMO for 4 seconds, with his only response being to pace around before being decap'd by said hunter. You are not Brett Kimple, and you never will be. You are not the reason why I regular MP.

I got tricord autos in the slots earlier. May or may not be more useful than the throwing knifes.

I like the backpack vs. satchel function. You have to think tactically which do you want more, access or storage? Also, add more medical pouches to the prep rooms in medic rooms, please. I actually like using double medical pouches.

You can put gauze and ointment in the armour now.carlarc wrote:is there anything useful that can be put in armor slots?
So you want to make the system that everyone is complaining about even more complicated? Marines have way more storage space than before even if they just take a first aid pouch. Except for the changes to pulse rifle magazines the update didn't nerf marines in my opinion.Imperator_Titan wrote:If you could strap a pouch or two onto the backpack that you could access without taking it off, I'd consider it a worthy alternative to the satchel.

With the changes to the armour and helmet accepting items now- I think the pouches is going to allow for a lot of customization- especially as new pouches become introduced or existing ones tweaked.

This updates got its highs and lows, I feel like it could have done better in a lot of ways but its been done well in others. I don't feel like the "problem" that inspired this update was ever an actual problem but K. I feel like all the nerfs against the marines was a bit heavy handed and the new reliance on cargo is very painful for everyone who choices to engage in the system. Cargo lines take a long ass while to get through and no longer am I asking for 2-3 attachments from them but now I'm asking for 2-3 attachment, 3-4 mags of ammo, maybe a pouch? Its a mess and I can't say Im hyped about it even a tiny bit. Plz gib cargo rework asap dev senpais.

Cargo is all fine until you get either no, or bad, cargo staff.
That's my main issue, but that's a player problem.

Easy, forbid marines from asking for magazines or pouches from cargo.
