A Project for the Ages!

Introduction! After suffering a bout of severe inspiration, and somewhat realizing that interest in the tutorial videos for the Colonial Marines server has dropped, I've gone and taken it upon myself to start writing stories. These stories will be about various members of the NMV (USS?) Sulaco, previous deployments, the NMS Nostromo, etc.
Goals! My reasoning for doing this is to maybe inspire people to put some thought into their character designs. While I don't have high hopes, it will definitely give me something to do. Hell, it might even bring some more publicity to a great server.

It SHOULD also give people some ideas on how to give backstory to their characters, as I won't simply be writing about the antics that take place among the crew. Things like the Angola Rebllion, the Klendathu Raid, and various other events will be included. Other than that, it'll be a good read for the curious passers-by if nothing else. I hope.

Of course, to do this, I'd like people who would like to be involved in these stories/have their stories written out to contact me through PM. I'd also like input as to what backstory events should be put in. Hopefully I can get some input from the heads and the host, who knows! I'll wait a few days for any messages to be sent, and ideas to accumulate in the thread. However, I'm already starting on the first story, the Klendathu Raid.

My next project will be the Angola Rebellion.

I'm not making videos since I lack the people for it. That, and I know absolutely Jack-Diddly-Shit about what actually goes in to making a video. No equipment outside of my headset, no video-editing software to speak of. I get the feeling that to make a decent tutorial video, there'd need to be some dedicated down-time or an additional server for a controlled environment, and a whole slew of other things.

I'm just writing a story. Minimal equipment, minimal man power, yadda yadda. If you want though, I can definitely link you to a copy before actually putting the stories up Unknown.

Just host a server with CM Code, its not hard to get, and then just get a few trusted plays and fellow mins to help out with the making of it. Im sure some of our coders can edit.

There will be stories about Banter Bravo-member's origins, as well as general background information/deployment information/stories for the use of everyone on the site to use for possible character creations. When there's a common backstory, it sometimes helps bring other stories together.

Considering that the BYOND engine can't handle CoD-style combat, and the Robust Combat system is the exact opposite of what it SHOULD be, RP is kind of a good thing to have. It can lead to interesting scenes, and you might even make a new pal or two.
