Are there neon haired snowflakes in the lore? Do xenos say the queen is EXTRA THICC, and in no movies or games or comics are there soulless baldies friendly firing ap into the marines.
Probably dead in some remote corner of the map

As Josh said, nothing to do with Game Mechanics.

Going to be blunt, but if you're going to complain about imbalances and stuns at least be intelligent about it and make sure you're not complaining about the one thing said race (xenos) are known for.

Looks even worse when theres video-games, comics and movies based entirely around that game-play mechanic.

Be educated and use thought before being a generic complainer as it destroys the value of your opinion.

It wasn't really meant as a serious argument, if it was completely accurate xenos would get destroyed by the pulse rifles and the queen wouldn't be immune to fire.

The overwatch console is really good now and the field promotions are excellent along with the Issue Order verb. I love it.

Well, to be honest, this server was SUPPOSED to be like that.. But with a small squad of marines and massive, almost unending army of xenos. But then it turned out that people liked playing marines more than xenos, so some changes had to be made...

But yeah, don't start an argument in the thread, we don't want it getting locked so people can't discuss it further and provide more useful information to staff that might be reading.

The marines of the Almayer were banned from using explosive rounds and high-intensity flamer fuel.

The fun part about the wonky mechanics of SS13 is that you can fill in the blanks with excuses. Multiple people randomly go catatonic during the operation? Cryosleep gives you minor brain damage! Drinking 3 coffees explodes your heart? Weyland-Yutani is caffinating it too much! A standard marine can identify a Tricordazine auto-injector but can't read the words on a pill label? Well duh, marines cant raed! They use a rhyme! "If trouble's come and your body smarts, shoot the orange pen into your heart!". Marines point out cardinal directions on the Almayer? Silly goose, don't you know we have a magnetic field generator, with the starboard side being north from our POV?! That's how come we aren't all floating around too, It generates gravity!

I find part of the RP fun is thinking up ways to justify the weirdness inherent to video games without breaking my suspension of disbelief, and it certainly does a lot to reduce salt when it comes time to die horribly.

The new alien vision is a good one, making it nearly impossible to meta targeting medic/spec, or seeing engineer setting C4.

Had my first game with the new xeno vision: I got destroyed by a smartgunner that chased me down because I got too close and I saw a ravager try charging a SADAR specialist by themselves. QUeen screech reigns supreme because it doesn't matter what you have when you are stunned, so I don't know what this fixed, really. It's cool I guess.

Capturing marines is more of a pain in the ass because you can't tell who is dangerous anymore. No one is going to try roleplaying any more with marines because they are just faceless blobs now.

I will also cornerspit with no regrets until something changes because opening a resin door onto a gyro/cuckshot marine that just escaped from a nest is just instant death.

Whoever made this new update must not play xeno at all. Predators look the same as marines. This is just a pain in the ass with no upside.

I haven't played the new update yet but if it is like that theb maybe resprit the preds to be significantly larger than humans?

I play xenos quite a lot and today was a first time I just.. did not have any fun playing as one. Its not really fun or immersive to slash or kill some static figurines with no name, looks or any signature. Its just static #1. And if you dont die, you get to engage static #2. No bloodthirst, no excitement from fighting, no feelings. You just keep fighting until you probably die from something you could not predict in any way. (buckshot to the face, roasted by flames, or even SADAR). I hope update will get tweaked and I will be mostly playing as a marine for the time being.

The ideal thing would be to limit static to creatures only that are out of your direct line of sight. (behind walls or any different worthwhile obstacle).

Now there is an idea. Maybe have creatures behind a wall be represented by a red pulsing glow, like you can sense their heartbeat. Monkeys and such have a much quicker pulse while humans are slower and preds the slowest.

Haven't played with the update yet, I'll post an update once I get around to it. I don't play xeno at all but I think an update like this is pretty awesome. It's always been weird to me that xenos can see the names of humans and recognize them as individuals despite the xenos probably not being able to grasp individuality since they're a hive-mind. Lore wise the change makes absolute sense and I think that the devs are focusing more on getting the game feeling more like a simulation given recent updates, such as the pouch one.

You summed up what I couldn't, thank you. It wasn't much fun but maybe I'll be able to give it another shot later today. Xenos still won that game that I was in because of the queen screech making the nerf pointless (and it is a nerf).

I like the nerf to grenades in Req, though. That feels like it was necessary, and my favourite role is Requisitions Officer (if you've seen a shit RO gimmick in the past week, probably me). It's gonna be painful orderingexplosives crates again, for sure, but the meta of handing the B18 spec an entire box and having two to spare to dump onto the FOB was too much. Maybe, possibly, the number of HDEP grenades in the explosives crate could be increased? There has been a two-fold grenade nerf recently; to how many are in RO and how they have random timers now, too.

I didn't like that timer update and I don't even use grenades. It basically makes it high risk to cook a grenade before throwing it. How random are they by the way?

What would make it better is if xenos could see the wounds on the marine's sprites, i can still see the names when i hover my mouse over them so i don't know what you are all talking about.

Instead of being 4 seconds like they used to be they're now 3-5

Oh, boo hoo now xenos have to be a LITTLE smarter to kick some ass.

Get good, cry me a river while you're doing it.

P.S predators have thermals, and make them see figures instead of mobs isn't a problem, as long we see them throu walls. Plus, aliens don't 'see' they indeed smell or use pheromones to detect their targets so the days of meta your spec, medic, SL are over get used to it.

It's like the pill update except there is a coin-toss chance the pill is holding a flamethrower/shotgun/smartgun/SADAR and will instagib you if you try to eat it.

How many human-shaped blobs of static will you be able to eat before you pop?
