medical care in colonial marines is fantastic!
you guys ever stop to think how amazing it is to go from bloody pulp to good as new in about 20 minutes? I just rolled my ankle at work, sprained it badly and broke some bones in my foot. i sat around the hospital for 3 hours and had to visit the x-ray room twice. im lucky that the breaks were clean and nothing was dislodged, so no surgery, but i spent that much time just for confirmation that there are broken bones. sci fi medicine is the best, i love all of you who work medbay and/or as a combat medic, i love not having to wait months to rehabilitate everytime i survive a crusher attack.
Thanks to everyone who pulls me out of the shit. Thanks to everyone who stabalizes me or performs surgery on me. Special thanks go to Luna "Firecracker" and Alicia Parker, ive lost count of how many times you guys have saved my ass.

I was just speaking about how underappreciated I feel as a medic! Hah! You have no idea how much this makes me feel better, thanks a whole bunch, I suppose after hearing this Ill set medic back to high. Its amazing how a little "thank you" can go an incredibly long way in extinguishing frustrations, especially considering that none of it matters by round end. :P, who's your marine Liptick? Ill be sure to always heal you to the best of my ability.

It is amazing how CM (and SS13 in general) manages to present medicine in such an accurate manner. It is an underpaid, underappreciated job where patients are mostly pricks, colleagues are condescending (self-centered?) as hell and where you just cannot make a mistake. And if you want to get at least some respect or recognition, you have to dedicate yourself wholesomely to the round (who likes having an SSD surgeon?). I don't mind getting no appreciation for it though (cause for me it's just an another job like SO, RO or SL).
It is just mind boggling how 100+ players can work together and do their job on a daily basis in a game about 2D spessmen getting ravaged by aliens. So yeah, in my book, everyone deserves at least a thank you.

I play as miguel ramos, normaly in bravo.
Its also interesting to see people on low pop rounds improvise when critical jobs are left empty. Sometimes the level of cooperation seems to be tightest when people are dissadvantaged significantly

The medical system in CM and SS13 is downright amazing. What you might think would be a boring segment of gameplay becomes very interesting to both read and watch. I always try and be very kind to the medics, doctors, and staff that save my ass even though they're usually running around like headless chickens trying to save all the wounded.

Knowing US Health care, I can only guess we all enlisted into the USCM for the benefits.

We all know marines are secretly all Terminators sent from another dimension to kill Weyland Yutani and FF all the salty marines. That's why when anyone gets stomped by a rhino 5 times, is missing both their legs and can't feel anything below their neck is fixable with peradoxin, birdicaine and surgery

I mean really why doesn't a crusher stomping on you instantly kill you, that thing has to weigh like 5 tons. It's heavier than a truck rolling over part of you I'm pretty sure.

Play an ss13 server that doesnt use baymed if you really want to be impressed by healing times.
"Memories can be vile. Repulsive little brutes, like children I suppose. But can we live without them? Memories are what our reason is based upon. If we can't face them, we deny reason itself! Although, why not? We aren't contractually tied down to rationality. There is no sanity clause. So when you find yourself locked down in an unpleasant train of thought, heading for the places in your past where the screaming is unbearable, remember: There's always madness. You can just step outside and close the door, and all those dreadful things that happened, you can lock them away. Madness... is an emergency exit."
