I think nests do inject some small amount of inaprovaline or something similar to it, since partially digested monkeys will gasp and die on their own but will survive (while gasping) if hugged and nested. So nests having some stabilizing effects is not unreasonable.

I usually get slashed to the point of internal bleeding, infected and then croak a moment later. The happiest one was when the ayys actually mourned me briefly. It was kind of sweet.
