I believe they said when they do open them again, they won’t do custom sprites, it takes too much manpower.

From what apop has told me (I asked him on discord), he said that donations for a long time now are settled. And since noone on the staff gets paid, the little they have is all they need to keep the server running.

He said if they made it so staff got paid or he got money from donations, there'd be a mess of legal shit he'd have to deal with, including the Alien and Predator licenses.

Note this is all paraphrased and was like a month ago, my memory might be shoddy

"We don't want to seem money-hungry or anything like that. We have enough funds to run the server for awhile, and since we don't pay or make and money off of CM, I didn't want to open donations."

However, because people constantly ask, I'm going to start talking with Devs about a new donation system and we may re-open them "soon(TM)". If for no other reason, than to shut everyone up about it. I seriously get 2-3 messages per day about donations. I'm grateful people want to support us, and I guess I should work on giving them an outlet for that again.

But It won't function like it did before.

in this capitalist world where everyone wants money for the minor of things, here you are, denying money because you already had enough of it.

Maybe add a counter to the effect of "Current donations have funded the server(s) for another X months"

Let's face it. The real reason why they don't accept donations anymore is that they are trying to dodge the IRS over receiving baldies blood (BB) in donation to cool off the servers.
Now that wouldn't normally be a problem but apparently the IRS want their cut since BB price has skyrocketed not too long ago.
