It's the middle of the round. Any civilians that survived the incident on the colony initially died long before the marines arrived, all of the marines are busy AP bursting their comrades planetside, and Weyland-Yutani isn't responding to your faxes. How can you make the game more interesting as CL without self-antagging or getting job banned? Some ideas I had were

-Find a squad leader that is a company loyalist and persuade him to secretly work under your command.
-Bribe the Cmo or researcher in order to reserve the information gathered of the aliens for company interests.
-Go planetside with a squad to ensure the protection of compant assets.
-Write an erotic novel and fax it to centcomm.
-Start a business selling golden apples to hungry marines.
-Pull some strings behind the scenes in order to help the XO and CMP demote an inept CO.
-Loot clothes off of corpses a expand your wardrobe.
-Share a drink with the CMP.
-Get a SO to assign a fireteam to something odd/tedious like colonist corpse retrieval.

What are yours?

You have to have a sufficient yield to get more apples. The seed extractor is also T1, so if your apples have a yield of 1, you will barely get anything worthwhile. You also need to account for production speed, which if I'm guessing correctly, is about 5 per yield. Then there's the dreaded "oh fuck my produce is growing headslugs!", which is when the pest levels are so impossibly high, spiders are coming out of the trays. Hydrophonics is tough for the unprepared

On a more on-topic note, I just thought of a wonderful new CL RP. Lets say the ship you are stationed on responds to a distress call from a Weyland-Yutani colony. Not too out of place, perhaps their power converter is busted, maybe the Colony Director died in an accident. The marine gear up, brief, and deploy, and find a colony abandoned and torn apart by an unclassified and unreported xenomorph species.

You have two choices here. Either:

A. Let the marines kill off the weird bugs and clean up the mess.
OR
B. Petition your director to allow the institution of a new tourist trap that could very well make millions:

I suppose, I mean, it's not like they could only exist in one cave on the whole planet, right? May as well just exterminate the ones here so we can get some work crews down to refurbish the colony in peace.

Did something recently happen with the CL's hydro? Whenever I used to play CL way back I could easily produce 20-30+ apples if I wanted too. Only issue is you have to babysit the damn trays with flasks filled with water from the officer's bathroom.

On that note just always represent Weyland's interests and you will have decent RP. Berate or outright yell at the CO for firing the Almayer's guns at the colony, demand that they not garrison into buildings to prevent damage, request that they retrieve weyland property and secure it.

Going planetside with a camera to take evidence of the USCM's damage of corporate property and slowly growing fond of the marines desperately holding the FOB, eventually redeploying with them all again for a glorious counter assault as I continued to photograph the battle was one of my proudest moments to date.

Whenever I get the privilege of being W-Y's glorious representative, I always RP the idea that XX121 are W-Y creations, or something similar. I usually get arrested, or get to laugh at the incompetence of the MP's. I really enjoy doing the aforementioned things.

Back before I got banned from command, I had a game where W-Y was going to record the radio audio and anouncements (They really didn't). This meant, in order to ensure copyright, they could not use any term in the radio that was owned by W-Y.

This is ANYTHING on the colony, anything W-Y on the ship, etc. Bill Carson (Fitchface) also did this idea when I told him. It is hilarious.

Just last night I started up an organ harvesting business by doing some dirty work for a researcher.

Before the WO found out, I had about 20 random organs gathered. Wooh, the look on her face when they shot out of the disposal. It was quite a sight.

I managed to escape the Almayer with 2 lungs, a brain, a heart, two kidneys and one appendix or something like. Also got an MT to steal an arcade machine for the pod we'd be using.
