This sort of thing helps a man develop tumours. What was going through your mind when you made this abomination?! What the HELL!? I can't get a burst fire or a quickfire because some mug decided to put them BOTH on one pistol that they in the end.. ditched at bloody hydro.

Smart =/= Attachments
You clearly haven't seen the Unga Dungas. Also sometimes out in the frontlines if someone drops their guns, it's easy pickings for those unga dunga vultures. They will grab your gun, field strip, and add it to their's. Thus creating a monstrosity. I always run magnetic harness, no buts, but If I find a gun with attachments sitting there, I won't hesitate. I had a M37 Shotgun once with: Magnetic Harness, Forward Grip, Bayonet, and a M37 Stock. All mainly from scavenging firearms that were left behind from wounded/those who were dragged off.

Re: Be smart with Attachments please.
Worst thing is that these types are the most likely to scream "UNGA DUNGA" now that the RO riots have subsided and people have become more reasonable about not getting their L33T L04D0UT. I've had people watch me get dragged off by weak xenos, and rather than help our squadmates shoot the thing, they grabbed my gun, ran back behind the frontlines, and stripped it. And boy howdy how sarcastic and snarky they get with the 'unga dunga's when you beat them up over the sheer disrespect of the matter.
Look people, you know that you hate it when it happens (except those rail light and bayonet mutants I guess). Just be cool and be happy with the unga the RO gave you. Do you really need that supergun so bad? Put lives before unga, people.

You mean I can't BC my Barrel Charger?! HERESY!
I really don't get why people make such a big deal out of attachments though.

Re: Be smart with Attachments please.
That's the worst. I would never grab someone's gun if they were right there, if it was abandoned and left for safe keepings, fuck it. But if you take someone's gun vs saving them makes you a total shithead and the worst of the ungasdavidofmk771 wrote: ↑10 Dec 2017, 15:26I've had people watch me get dragged off by weak xenos, and rather than help our squadmates shoot the thing, they grabbed my gun, ran back behind the frontlines, and stripped it.

Re: Be smart with Attachments please.
I made a thread about RO riots back when they were really getting out of hand. I remember not giving this stupid standard (or engi i can't even remember, they were just a typical white haired female marine) their attachments once so they shocked both my doors which I got fixed by a Maintenance tech. I catch them trying to do the same thing later and they stop. Once I go back inside the office, they have the audacity to go around and ask for attachments like nothing had ever happened. At this point in the game, I closed the shutters in RO, hopped into a sleeper in cryo and watched closely for their death when the xenos came up.
It made me smile.

Well some things like holster are important for certain loadouts and some attachments like harness may make the difference between life and death of xeno but most of them probably fall under the category "bad worker always blames his tool" and unga dungas think grip or extended barrel will make them unstoppable kill machine while the truth is enable-burstfire hotkey will make them one

The only thing I can think of to ask the RO for would be 1-2 grenades.
A masterkey if I wanna be more robust / they ran out of grenades. However, I usually main a medic and have better things to do than stand in the RO line.

The only worth while attachment really is the mag harness. The rest really aren't worth the hassle.

FOOKIN LASER SIGHTS
Honestly though, learn to use the gun without the attachments. Its better and makes you look better because you arent an idiot who cries for attachments and hold up the RO line.

Re: Be smart with Attachments please.
Everyone can stop pretending that attachments don't do anything, honestly. A grip+RDS combo most definitely has a noticeable effect on any gun you put them on. Nobody is crying about not getting attachments anymore, at least not from what I've seen. It honestly befuddles me, this "unga dunga" saying culture. A few months ago, people were literally murdering and rioting over them. Now it's just sorta another thing to ask RO for since AP, pouches, and nades became a mainstay in the req office.
Perhaps the culture is to thank for this, but now its just needlessly insulting to people who are willing to admit that certain attachments (specifically the most abundant and cheapest) are just simply good and make you viable as an FOB defender rather than a barn-side misser or a gung-ho rambo (looking at you, gryo).

Exactly. You can't honestly say that an unmodded shotgun is the same as a shotgun with a BC and a gyro with a straight face. Besides, Two gyro shotguns are enough to kill T1s and Crit T2s. Can't do that without mods.

Re: Be smart with Attachments please.
It gets even sillier when you come across people that are bleeding out on the ground, you go to save them, and as you are dragging them to safety, they beg you to grab their gun...
... Because apparently they can't go on living without their rifle. Most of the time I can understand this, considering that losing your primary means of fighting can leave you a fair bit handicapped. Then again, that is why it is a good habit to pack a sidearm so you can at least ward off xenos while you seek out your old rifle or another gun that you have ammo for.
I even heard stories of people that foolishly run towards death to recover their rifle, despite there being plenty of unused guns laying around that they could take instead. Sometimes, you just gotta let go, it isn't worth getting killed for. A vanilla Pulse Rifle might not have the same kick as your red dot/grip rifle, but it can still get the job done if you use it right.

idk if its just me but it seems like there is no need for any accuracy attachments at all for the M41A as long as you are using single fire mode
the only attachment that makes a real difference for me gameplay wise is the railscope

Single fire is not that good where you have to burst damage xenos down in order to kill them.

Re: Be smart with Attachments please.
I've started to give up hope of ever getting a BC for my Smartgun if it's an RO that I'm not familiar with. Let alone standard attachments as PFC or Engineer.
The only time I'll really bug ROs for them is when I'm really itching to try out a particular loadout. Even then, I tend to use vanilla gear as a means to corral the ayys into the tender, loving embrace of more robust Marine players.

The other side are infected marines with one arm, coughing blood bringing their HPR or QF BC rifle back to Almayer while the others have to hold the xeno horde with bayonets.

Re: Be smart with Attachments please.
I don't do attachments, but I do grow attached to my weapons. I can easily get replacements but I go for the whole "THIS IS MY WEAPON" spiel. My weapon will keep me safe, I think as I bleed out on the Alamo waiting for it to take off. I can't be hurt if I have my weapon.Renomaki wrote: ↑11 Dec 2017, 22:21It gets even sillier when you come across people that are bleeding out on the ground, you go to save them, and as you are dragging them to safety, they beg you to grab their gun...

If I'm honest, I sure as hell won't leave a flamer/Battle rifle/HPR while I retreat, even if it kills me. that shit's too rare.

Re: Be smart with Attachments please.
If you get enough attachments on a weapon or get your hands on something rare, more than anything else it becomes your rifle. You risk your life to get it back since abandoning your rifle is almost like a crime.

Feel like this devolved into another 'attachments or not thread'. The point was don't put bloody quickfires, burst fire adapters and barrel chargers on your stupid sidearm that isn't going to do much anyways unless you're robust.
