special event selection.

Post by Amitt0 » 26 Dec 2017, 11:49

Heyo dudes.

I played an event around when I first started playing where it was marines vs upp or maybe clf. It was super fun. Marines were ambushed upon landing in the dropship and the fighting spread throughout big red until we cornered them in what we though we're their headquarters.

Other rounds I've seen squads of upp spawned in being stalked by predators and eventually "surrendering" to marines to later cause shit on the Almayer.

What I'm wondering is what are the chances of being selected as the opposing force in a human vs human event or just a random pvt in a upp squad spawned planetside at round start? Is that in character set up like ert or something or is it administration selected? I'd just love to try being on the clf or upp side of a human vs human round. Wondering how to increase my chances of being selected for that besides a helping and asking since that I think would actually decrease my chances.
Thanks dudes.

It's random. Most of the times the opposing force are dead players picked by the Join Response Team verb
Marine: Ruben Dario
Yautja: Makauu’rel
Synthetic: Saturn / Shepherd (old model)

Yeah, the events are sorta rare. And in order to become CLF or UPP you gotta be dead so good luck with that

While events are rare- some things that may help with your selections are:

Have a good reputation- notes, bans, and job bans reflect poorly on your ability to play the game well, or make the round enjoyable for others. Building that trust takes a little bit of time, but just dont break the rules. Also, active bans tend to result in disqualification from event roles.

Be active in the community- Having a name we can recognize is going to help us know who you are, and remember you were a good player in the past, or did something people who run events would enjoy.

When you DO get selected for a special role [either event or ERT], role play the part. if you run off on your own, ignore your leader, or cause issues, we tend to remember that.

good luck with this stuff in the future! stick around, you may find yourself in these roles in the future

Yeah I get that you need to be dead for ERT but for a special event like human vs human wouldnt the opposing force like CLF or UPP be selected from the marine pool at round start?

if the server is at high population then a good amount of people would have to be selected to play on the UPP or CLF occupying forces waiting for the marines on the surface.

Right?

the event i mainly referred to in the original post was a special event at round start where marines deployed and were met on the ground by a dug in, organized force. not just a single squad of baddies.

That would be an admin event. On the scale you are talking about, it was probably an event run by Feweh.

Nic made some pretty good points up above on how to be selected for events by admins. I usually look a round in advance for people to play for the event and pick people mostly from the criteria Nic created.
