The Cancelled Aliens RPG - Investigating Aliens: Crucible
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2KmwNIdkeZc
spotted this vid and thought id share it on here in case you all hadnt seen it yet. what a shame for so much work on a game to come to nothing! i hadnt heard anything about this before just now.
however, perhaps a little good can still come from it. maybe something you see or read as you look into it could spark an idea for something that could be used in this server?
the little robo drone-buddies that the player's party seems to have, for example, or maybe some of the monster designs could give inspiration. check out 4:30 in the vid for a glimpse of some neat looking xeno designs!

Re: A neat video i spotted - The Cancelled Aliens RPG - Investigating Aliens: Crucible
(Note: I am writing this where I'm only about halfway through the video, so I may have missed some stuff.)
It's sad to see a game that looked like it had potential get cancelled. Comparing it to some of today's games, it seems to have been a mixture of State of Decay (with the options of recruiting survivors, exploring a vast area, and customizing and managing a safe haven), and Darkest Dungeon (with the moral system as said in the video). There's also the cool fact that similar to Halo: ODST at the beginning of the game, you would of got that creepy and alone feeling, noting you all dropped via drop pods, and must regroup with the rest of your crew (if you chose to). This would encourage the player to try and find people as quickly as possible as they'd feel (and technically would be) vunerable being alone, while Aliens hunt and watch your every move.
It would of been awesome to go around a colony, whilst trying to find supplies and a way off before the aliens kill all of you. Heck, it would be cool if maybe depending on your choices, the number of members you escape with, ect. if there were multiple endings, kinda like Dead Rising, where certain decisions lead to many people dying, or the truth being revealed. In this case, maybe you get a distress beacon out and call in Marines, which can either lead to you escaping or possibly making your game go on longer as they get picked off, creating more aliens. Or perhaps you repair and fuel up a ship, in which you can decide who to bring (if you decide to bring everyone or leave them all to die). You may even feel brave and feel good risking your group by searching for the hive, either exterminating it or destroying the colony entirely, with or without you on it to perish.
Honestly, I feel with help, the people behind 'Alien: Isolation' could really make a game like this, as they easily nail the creepy atmosphere and the alien with it's behavior, looks, and AI (even if it at times seems to cheat, be unfair, or very stupid). Maybe the Aliens could go and be more like the Alien in 'Alien: Isolation', hunting alone and being sneaky if you yourself are alone, to make it somewhat easier but creepy for the player as they can possibly avoid it entirely. Then, as you gain more people who follow you, the Aliens become more aggressive, hunting in packs and charging, forcing you to engage them. I dunno, I may make a post with more ideas based off this, or not. Anyways, thanks for pointing this out!

Should this maybe be in "other games"?

since it's unfinished and unreleased, and terribly unlikely to ever be finished and released, it might not quite qualify as an "other game" but feel free to move the thread or whatever you feel you need to do
