Requisition nervousness.
I am horrible at getting attachments. Literally dont know what to say or get, so I just skip that and go to briefing.
Anyone want to lend a hand in helping me understand how to get attachments and all that?

Re: Requisition nervousness.
Get in the line, switch intent to disarm, don't push, steal, hit or insult anyone.
While you're waiting, think about what attachment you want to get, so you don't waste everyone's time by thinking when it's your turn. Bonus points if you have your request already typed and just need to hit enter when your turn comes.
If you don't know what to ask, the classic is
-grenade or two
-grip
-red dot sight
-mag harness
These should just give you bonuses. You can find more info on attachments on the wiki : wiki/Marine_Equipment#Weapon_Attachments
Don't ever ask for a bayonet or a rail flashlight, you can get these in your prep vendors.
Depending on the RO, pfcs will usually only get two attachments plus a grenade, keep that in mind.
Don't ask for a BC if you don't know what you're doing, they're valuable. Most ROs won't give them out to PFCs (sadly, M41A with BC in the right hands can win a round)
Most importantly, don't argue with the RO, and whatever you do, do it fast. There are another 50 marines behind you waiting, and brief is about to begin.

Remember that all CTs are Sergeants, and the RO is a Ensign. So odds are they will be your superiors when talking to them.
Ultimately be respectful and avoid wasting time if possible. Step out of the line and let others proceed before putting on attachments, also step out of line and wait nearby if you order something specific that may take awhile.

50/50 chance people won’t notice if you hop over the barricades during the rush to requisitions, especially if there’s no MPs around. Even if they catch you you’ll just get sent to the back, so it’s a win win. Even better if you take off your ID and wear a gas mask so no one recognizes you doing it. Because waiting in line is for suckers!

Re: Requisition nervousness.
RO point of view : someone hopping over the cades and not moving at the back of the line in the 5 seconds after being caught, I'll just deny him for the entire operation.
Be kind, be nice. Say hello. Say thank you. Don't try to outsmart the CT/RO, he has all power anyway, and if he is a dick, he'll enjoy telling you to fuck off.
Understand that there were 20 marines asking for their shits before you, and probably 50 more marines after you : stocks are not infinite, you may not be lucky.

If you want to have a solid classic rifle :
Red Dot Sight and Forward grip (RDS and FG). And go with burst fire.
If you are more of a shotgunner :
RDS and FG. Or RDS and Gyro.
I suggest you to carry a secondary firearm equipped with a railflashlight, in case of emergencies.

As said per others, the wiki is well constructed, well explained. I learnt most of the things I know thanks to the work for the brave contributors.
The more you will play, the more you will understand that you have a particular playstyle, then, you will adapt your attachments to suit more your playstyle.

Re: Requisition nervousness.
Keep an eye out for leaders / specs / sg's, know rankings. Use channels or turn off radios to clear the chat.
Prioritize command levels starting with bridge.
Do not let marines bully you into spending points you can not spare. The engi that needs the sentry, or the sniper that needs the bullets will thank you. Cryo Console is new and a mixed bag. IMO, i prefered this positioned near the cryo beds, due to the nature of its list formatting and selection gui.
REQ already has plenty of work without some baldies coming to ask for 3 items from the cryoconsole. No, I am not going to list off the hundred items for you from the console. Please move that back near the cryo beds to save new RO's a big headache, imo.

Re: Requisition nervousness.
There are a few of us old RO's that are happy to outfit your weapon for you if you ask kindly or offer backpacks of magazines.
In truth though it all depends on what you feel you'd like to do. If you're going to just sling ammo down range you can go for a quickfire or a BFA.
If you want accuracy you can get a red dot and a foregrip.
wiki/Marine_Equipment#Weapon_Attachments
This is a list of all available attachments and what they generally do for you, so go hog wild and experiment. The only restrictions you will likely see are on barrel chargers, but even then lately things have laxed a bit.
Hint: If you see Rain Winterson or Joshua Kincaid and you don't know what you may need for the battle, set your weapon on the table and ask them what they feel would be best. Most times they'll help you out.

Re: Requisition nervousness.
If you really need an idea on what to get look at the Colonial Marines Wiki and go the attachments section. Personally I recommend you ask for a mag harness if you like not losing your gun.
Best way to be in the front of the line is get your armor, uniform and (possibly) get food then run past the weapons vendors to the line first thing and get to that line.
Another thing. Try pre-typing your order, copy/cutting it and then pasting it when you get to the front of the line and are being asked for your order.

Re: Requisition nervousness.
Just all of this, really. I've told people to fuck off for a lot of things : Asking bs stuff like donut, trying to climb my table, jumping the line, and most importantly, the hug spam back when we had that bug. Heck, if you talk shit about me or other Req staff in line and I manage to read it in the wall of text, say goodbye to your chance of getting stuff from me. Remember that only the RO (who usually agrees with his/her CTs) and the XO/CO can revert your "not getting shit from Req" state.Kesserline wrote: ↑07 Feb 2018, 07:54RO point of view : someone hopping over the cades and not moving at the back of the line in the 5 seconds after being caught, I'll just deny him for the entire operation.

Just be nice, and don't take too much time asking. Be on grab intent and start typing when you're gonna be next. Throw us some bags of supplies or just simply bribe us with donuts. There're a lot of things you can do and there're a lot of nice ROs and CTs that will gladly give you what you ask as long as you're nice. Also please don't attach in line. Put the attachments in your satchel/backpack and leave.

Re: Requisition nervousness.
Just ask for all your stuff in one sentence. The one thing that does get me biting when I play RO or CT is when someone asks first for a QF and grip, then two grenades, then a webbing, then AP mags, all in separate lines of text after I've already gone and got them the first items.
I play Alicia Parker, Naomi Bowman, and Chloe.

Re: Requisition nervousness.
As someone who has recently gone FULL RO, here are some tips.
Don't ask for too much shit. I'm pretty lax, but if you ask for webbing, two grenades, AP, 3 attachments, I'm going to give you less than I normally would out of spite. And one sentence, not split. The first thing that comes out of your mouth is all you get. Prepare it in line, say it the instant you step up to the window. If you type it while you're at the window and take too long, you're denied.
You ask for something stupid? Denied. You ask for HPR as anything other than a PFC? Denied. You ask for metal before first drop? Denied. Start fights in line? Denied. Argue with the RO? Denied. Insult the RO? Denied and also arrested. Don't fuck with us. We are legion, and we are angry.
If you don't know what to ask for, just put your gun on the table and ask politely. But for a new player you can't go wrong with an extended barrel, RDS, and two grenades.

Re: Requisition nervousness.
I'd also recommend to pre-type out your request if it's pretty lengthy while waiting in line. Once it's your turn just press enter and then the CT/RO can quickly get your request through. It's not as important but can be a tad annoying when waiting for thirty seconds for a marine to type out one long request or even worse, making their request in seperate lines of text.

Re: Requisition nervousness.
Alright sir, you walk up to the CT or RO.
You say "Hello, can I get uhhhhhhh [insert attachment here]."
Dont put attachment on in the line.
Go to your seat in briefing. Go on with your life.
Now sometimes the RO or CT might say we dont have those(the bastards might be lying), just say okay and go about your buisness. Because some people who play req enjoy salting other players.
