That was an interesting round.

Post by Rikman » 13 Mar 2018, 22:53

So, the latest event was USMC vs. CLF, while playing bravo SL, as Manley Dawkins.
(I truly apologize for killing the SO, I thought he was CLF as he was behind their lines when we were fighting)
I absolutely loved that round. Honestly, I thought we were going to lose, because the underground was a horrible place for the marines, when sniper bullets, MGs and grenades were common.
I burned some wounded people to death, which IC they killed some of my friends so I had some anger involved.
The round end pod launching to the Almayer was awesome, much like the Xenos.
I want some perspective from marines and CLF. What did you think of the round IC and OOC?

I can tell you from one assist Admins that round that had to spawn stuff in, I have a headache now from spawning so much of the same stuff in.

Definitely an amusing round to watch and help along though.

That round was pretty fun, I spawned in two times as a muhreen extinguisher even though my abilities were very limited (make shift cock tails and nades.) The first go around I spawned in as Jack Green, pretended to surrender and tried to execute the Liason with nades and a bat because I forget my gun. Needless to say, my body was mangled in the process. Second time I was Nicholas Barrows, delivering speeches of wisdom to my comrades before getting bombed by some weird admin event, ghosting, finding out I got healed, and getting salty because of it.
I play Daniel Sullivan.

I saw a gatling gun, did you spawn that?

I was the CLF commanding officer that round.

I admit, I wasn't all that prepared for an underground battle, and made quite a few tactical blunders that cost me the battle. On the other hand, though, I also was kept on my toes as I had to rapidly build defenses and even set up MGs while under heavy fire. The last thing I did before I died (and was then captured) was replace a dead battery in our medical bay so our autodocs would work again... Then delta came in and murdered all the wounded before we could treat them.

Later on, I got the pleasure of having some Commander talk with the USCM CO. It didn't go quite as I planned, but in the end I think I made things interesting for the CiC staff, instead of just being the typical "fight to the last bloody breath" kinda player. I really wish for more CO/CO interaction in future HvsH rounds. If I ever get the pleasure to be a CO during such a round, I hope there would be a point where we could have a cease fire and discuss military matters over tea.

And yeah, I'm that kinda CO. But hey, it IS a high RP role, right?

It was fine but I really don't think CLF work well for a Main antagonist, at least in a single front 1v1 fight. Marines are just ridiculously better equipped. CLF I think are better reserved for guerrilla missions, UPP would be a better match up for a straight fight.

Either that or there needs to be a lot more CLF to begin with. It was fun though, I really enjoy HvH and it's lack of tackling.

I was one of the CLF during the dropship invasion. We spared one marine that surrendered, Unlike marines who were killing everything that breathed and/or moved

How do you even roll CLF or UPP?

I was one of the first contact CLF.

Pretended to be a civilian, relocated to LZ, Marises were gathering around me and prepping to go north.

I did a little speech about Cristóbal before molotoving the crowd and a few grenades. Suicide bomb really shocked the marines.

I did not. I was tasked with spawning barricades, metal stacks, plasteel stacks, and sandbags everytime there was a new "FOB" after the initial one fell.

I had some more tasks towards the end, but thats the majority of what I did.

That was you?! You put Alpha SL in crit for a while, and I almost got caught in the flames.

The number of war crimes is too damn high. And I'm not just talking about marines, who for some reason would shoot surrendered prisoners. Then again, if CLF were pretending to surrender and then suicide bombing, I probably would think twice about taking prisoners too.

I got the Mr Stabber medical Robot. I also have little to no knowledge of how drugs work and how to perform surgery. I had to have the other med bot, Mr Stabby to guide me through all of it while CLF get shot up and doped up on Bicar and Tram.

Making sure players don't commit war crimes is almost impossible without interfering too much in the event. It's better to leave it as an IC issue since it's funnier when a marine gets arrested for that.

I was a CLF commando who took about 3 heads, 10 arms, and 4 legs with my SVD. I hope you marines liked losing limbs to me ;)

Other than that I loved the event and at the end became Mr.Stabby with Cry and guided him through a lot of how to use medicine. I did love the end battle with my flash spam. I did manage to break 2 autodocs and needed those fixed...
