Does CM feel a bit slow to you?
So I came back to CM after a month since I got banned and I realised that its a bit slow for some reason, I played TG where it is pretty fast. Do you think its not me spending that much time on CM?

TG has very fast movement speed, CM has slow movement speed. Especially if you wear marine armour, which slows you down further.

Re: Does CM feel a bit slow to you?
It used to be much, much faster; but was slowed down as part of a overall nerf to both marines and xenos.
Ancient runners used to be able to run circles around entire squads; now they can barely do so by abusing pounces. But this was months ago, if not a year, that said change was instated; dunno if there was any recent updates.

Re: Does CM feel a bit slow to you?
It's also kinda inconsistent at times. Some things take no time at all like placing objects in bags, but things like adding metal to a stack are INSANELY slow. Gotta sit for a second and a half spam clicking just to pick up one sheet.
But yes, it was slowed down. You can still move fast if you don't have armor on, however. That's why you sometimes see marines in just their jumpsuits running around with dual revolvers and shit.
The only thing that can always run circles around marines is either Ancient Hunters with frenzy pheromones or a Predalien. Predaliens are fucking scary to fight.

I play Cosmo Rader, the intelligent man that rocks a good goatee. Usually play as Smartgunner, PO, and Carrier.

I mean. Runners still barely run faster than unarmored, well fed marines which is bullshit if you ask me.

Re: Does CM feel a bit slow to you?
I think lore wise there is no way you could even outrun a xeno, but eh. I'm fine with runners being speedy boys; they get paid to be fast.KingPhilipIII wrote: ↑22 Mar 2018, 21:29I mean. Runners still barely run faster than unarmored, well fed marines which is bullshit if you ask me.

I was referring to how absurd it is they can't outrun marines.

Re: Does CM feel a bit slow to you?
I have PTSD from the days after the optimizations that made the game much faster, the FF from the runners on meth running around squads still haunts me in my dreams.
I play "Mudder Plantagenet" and that's it, no fancy quotes or anything.

Re: Does CM feel a bit slow to you?
We are definitely on the slower side movement wise. I haven't had a hand in this, but I prefer it.
TG moves too fast for my tastes, which in my opinion is frustrating because because of SS13s high precision nature. People can move out of your line of sight in about a second, and attempting melee combat without a stun weapon is like playing high speed whack-a-mole.
SS13 has a reasonably high emphasis on stunning people to beat them. The higher the movement speed, the stronger that emphasis. In my opinion, things would be a lot more frustrating if we moved at that pace.

CM's movement is sluggish, but not -the- most sluggish. It definitely offers a specially different air than servers such as TG, and is a good relief after the breakneck muscle-straining gameplay of overheating your mouse through the friction generated by your CPM. The movement speed takes a lot of focus OFF of stun combat which is absolutely wonderful.

CM hails from an even slower-paced code base: Baystation. It has inherited many things that are not necessarily best suited for its unique flavor.

Re: Does CM feel a bit slow to you?
It might be a bit slow, but honestly, I prefer that. TG-tier movement speed would be a nightmare. you'd have xenos/CLF/whatever else running into crowds and killing a large number of marines before they could even react.

Re: Does CM feel a bit slow to you?
You can still move fast enough to juke people if you aren't too injured, but likewise, if you are a god shot and can predict movement well, and abuse cover, you can take a lot of people/xenos down. I like it the way it is.

You already have that, i see it multiple times in a round sometimes.Currently, playing humans is sluggish compared to aliens.Mostly due to structural failure...err i meant the higher amount of clicking you have to do.

Max Dallas has been hit in the chest by the M40 HEDP grenade.

"It was a fantastic round. If the CO hadn't cryo'ed before the end I'd have bothered him to give at least two more medals. To PFC Max Dallas, who kept doing the path between the frontlines to FOB (the only place with medical aid) with a roller bed, and saved a lot of marines who'd have husked otherwise. And to Dr. Haley Altman, who after all medics were gone was fixing us time and again for hours straight. At the end there were over 10 patients around her either dead or in crit, and she just kept going."
