Loadouts

Post by KaiserBlackwood » 17 Apr 2018, 12:50

Any ideas on what to take as a loadout for a marine? Except salt, salt is always with me.

Like well, armor and etc.

Helmet, Mag harness, two grenades, and maybe a webbing are a good base loadout for any weapon. You can change it up depending on weapon.

Dual wield buckshot shotties for maximum FF.

With the changes to accuracy you don't even need to fear FF, because you'll miss the marines. You'll only hit walls.

skele stock, angled grip, and BC with AP. Every round I get this, I barely use it due to memes, but I think it's akin to the unga blaster (RDS, FG, and BC) pre gun update.

Magnetic Harness + Angled Grip + Bayonet for my shotty with buckshot is my gun for when I'm medic. I usually just go something brainless like MagHarness+EB+2 nades for PFC

The UGL has never let me down: two grenades, webbing, harness or red dot to taste then an angled grip if you are using shotgun/rifle combo otherwise some AP.

Hey, does it matter if it is a vertical or horizontal grip? I haven´t figured that one out yet.

Vertical grip (wielded): Slightly increases accuracy, Slightly decreases recoil, Slightly decreased bullet spread, Increased weapon size. Basically the old forward grip.

Angled Grip (wielded): Greatly decreased wield delay, Slightly decreased recoil, Increased weapon size.

I'm not sure about how much this wield delay impacts you, but to me the effect is very small. I'll take the slight increase in accuracy and decrease in spread every time.

Try and get your hands on a box of nades and become the designated PFC grenadier. If youre good, its a cakewalk to kill small benos.

Oh, and THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT! If you DO NOT GET A SUPPRESSOR/LONGBARREL, BUT A BAYONET ON IT! IT DOES NOT CHANGE ANYTHING BUT MELEE DAMAGE!

And if you carry a M4A3 or shottie as a secondary, put raillights on them, and for the shottie put a bayonet on it.

Alright I'm going to post my full loadout, well at least what I usually go with and a variant that's probably better.

Helmet: (Goggles and protien bar)
Armor (Bayonet and protien bar)
Uniform, gloves, boots, boot knife, headset (all that jazz)
Suit storage: M4A3 holster pistol and magazines
Belt: Ammo rig filled with M41A magazines (drop two mags for Ap if warranted)
Back: M41A mk2 pulse rifle (rail flash, and two HEDP grenades in UGL)
Pockets: First aid pouch and flare pouch

A better variant of this would be to put the M41A into suit storage and take a sheathed M37A2 on the back slot. For shotgun ammo drop the bayonet and a protien bar.

My go-to for a standard marine:

In Satchel: 2x flare boxes, health analyzer, splints, and a sidearm

Pouches: 1x flare, 1x first aid

In armor: Either spare magazines for my rifle or extra first aid/pain-stop auto injectors

In helmet: protein bars

On my rifle: usually a rail light and a grip. Plain and simple.

Also make sure your magazine harness is full, and slide a knife in your boots.

M41 with EB + RDS + BFA

1 AP and one Extended M41 mag

Fill the rest of the ammo rig with standard M41 mags.

Buckshot Shotty with Rail Light and Bayo.

2 buckshot shell handfulls in armor.

2 first aid pouches (one full of infectors, the other full of bandages and ointment).

2 EAT Bars on helmet.

Pretty easy to get M41 attachments for me, even as a late joiner.

I don't go to req but by picking up random guns on the floor I have come to the conclusion that for an M4 that you'd want an angled grip, an eb (or a suppressor if you want to hide your FF) and a top attachment of your choice. Never a stock.

The downsides of the grip is when it's one handed it reduces stats. This does not matter. Being able to fire your gun faster is incredibly important. EB makes it so you hit more shots, with less damage. More damage is gained by the increased amount of shots hit.

For the shotgun the only thing you need is a rail flash. Angled grip is a really nice thing to have on it. Bayonet is cool but harm intent does more damage with point blanks.

I think the most effective loadout would be taking these two guns with the minimal downsides and not packing a bag. You'd probably want to shove three tramadol and three tricord injectors with two gauze into first aid pouches. That stops ten sources of bleeding and the tricord is for burns.

For ammo you'd want to shove five mags into your rig and two handfulls of shells into your armour. As an aside, I personally believe keeping your guns vanilla - or only with an angled grip due to the removal of fire delay - will bring you miles ahead of the rest.

Extra goodies you can request from req:
[*] Ammo pouch, room for an extra 3 M41A magazines.
[*] Large pistol ammo pouch, room for 6 extra pistol magazines or handfuls of shotgun shells (Edited: that last part was deemed a bug and fixed).
[*] M41A .45 pistol and magazines, much better than the standard 9mm M41A pistol or the M44 revolver.

Useful things you can put in your armor or webbing:
[*] Splints.
[*] Tools (crowbar, wrench).
[*] Ammo.
[*] Stasis bags.

Effective gun loadouts:
[*] Massamune's Delight: M41A + bayonet + mag harness + skele stock + angled grip (or mini flamer, masterkey or UGL). Best CQC weapon.
[*] Sentinel's nightmare: Same as previous, but on a M37, with buckshot. Hard to be a more annoying captured host than with this. Best sidearm IMO.
[*] Frontline push prime: M41A + RDS + BC + VG + AP magazine. Highest damage output, use this to chase T3s during pushes and see them melt.
[*] Anti-Boiler: M41A + scope + VG + suppressor (optional). Great while being besieged to keep the Boilers from gassing your defenses with impunity.

dont let any of these fools tell you what to pick, try every single attachment yourself, even the so called crappy ones and decide for yourself. I personally prefer using a different combination every round, I rarely use the same loadout/gun twice in a row.

Two shotguns, rail lights on both and gyros on both. Buckshot all the way

Lately I've been playing with the M39 on my engie - MagHarness, Extended Barrel, Laser sight. Seems to work fairly well.
I play Stephen 'Dipper' Johansen, the most american nord that ever did live.
Also Maja Johansen, his vaguely more Scandinavian sister.

Welp... I just use M41A with RDS, stock, ugl and bayonet.
Also I try to get hands on webbing and few nades. As secondary I carry shotty, sometimes, mostly it's loaded with 1 additional mag M4A3, to shoot myself :D
If I use shotty as secondary I take buckkshots and bayonet on it. Leaving satchel to die, and myself too.

P.S. Bayonets for life! CHARGE!

M39 with vert grip, suppressor, and SMG stock. Extended mag is also highly recommended, as this loadout is pretty much meant to be left in burst, save for when firing carefully between allies. It can burn ammo a little quickly, but being able to put bursts on target has proven a very nice thing since I've started running it.

It semi-relies on a req line willing to give you three attachments, but since the SMG stock is not that highly desired, I've had pretty good luck so far.
