Survive by not surviving
Or just go to a corner of a map with someone you find that Xenos only have one way through and barricade that shit to kingdom come

If you are surviving as survivor, you are doing it wrong.
Your job is to find retard xenos and kill them while young. You have 200 ticks of evo time to do this. GO
Or you can hide in a locker forever like a baby, that works.

I don't know if this one got patched but you could disable disposal pumps and stay in there forever. I used to have anonther colonist near disposals so He would just bait the aliens while if he was stunned or in danger i could just put him back in disposals while inside it. Again, this might have been patched im not too sure.

Like, if you just want to make it to the ship your best bet is to find a body bag or enough wood/metal to make a coffin or locker and use it to hide in a rarely visited part of the map. Hiding inside of an object like this will keep you from showing up on the xenomorphs nightvision.
Currently, humans not encumbered by armor or wielding a weapon move faster than or at the same speed as the xenomorphs. Its very possible to just go all greased up deaf guy and run in wide circles on the LZs until the DS comes down if you get a good feel for dodging pounces.

Re: How surviving with Survivor?
Hiding inside something is a pretty safe cheese, but a waste of the slot imo.
The best rounds are when you make a stand and take a few with you. It even can change the round, as they'll have less xenos with that high upgrade/evolve time.
Best tips I have are:
The best rounds are when you make a stand and take a few with you. It even can change the round, as they'll have less xenos with that high upgrade/evolve time.
Best tips I have are:
- Find other survivors (if you see a nounced radio, GRAB IT). Popular spots like ones with guns are good too, but might get you found quicker.
- Get gear. You may not have a backpack or welder, grab those. Metal, ammo, medicine are also quite important
- Find a defensible position. Few entrances, preferably with a long enclosed approach will make it more dangerous for aliens to attack. Walls will take a while to melt, and a barricade behind them means acid holes won't work. Some locations have added benefit, such as power or supplies.
- Secure your position. Welded or bolted doors will need acid, taking time. Unwrench pipes to stop vent crawlers (or even trap xenos inbetween barricades). If you are low on metal, save some and add barricades as xenos use acid, not before. You can hack safely without gloves if there's no power. An escape route might be helpful too.
- Traps are good. Luring a xeno into a position where it cannot retreat from fire (gun or literal fire) is a good way to eliminate them. Easiest is to is to pretend to be weak or withdraw, and get them climb over something or out of a vent. Not sure on codebase here, but an airlock with no access requirements and a signaller on the open/shut wire should work too.

Re: How surviving with Survivor?
If you know where the armory is, head there immediately. It probably seems a bit meta but it makes sense seeing as aliens just started meming the colony, and that your starting gun would only serve as a good suicide weapon or peashooter. You will undoubtedly find other survivors at the armory by the time you get there, but if you somehow don't, say your prayers and go hide or do something useful, like set up T-Comms with the limited time you have. Or you could activate badass survivor mode and hunt down the benos, which usually doesn't work for me without other survivors.
If you do actually manage to find other survivors at the armory, find some place to hole up with the metal you get. The benos will find you soon, so deconstruct what you can and don't forget barbed wire on your cades. If you're on big red, the armory in administration has some pretty good guns aswell. Don't expect to be able to hold out long if the benos find your holdout spot quick, even with other survivors, as your guns usually only have one magazine, so grab all the ammo you can from anywhere and hope for the best.

While surviving is rewarding, you usually end up dead, because Muhreens need twenty minutes to get their precious attachments.

Re: How surviving with Survivor?
You could try to survive in a fridge... that's how i did it, there were 3 survivors and two fridges, so one guy got in one and i got in one, then we got locked in by the other dude which made it seem we never got open, so try to get with survivors and hide or go to armory like on LV-624 and hold out, however if the marines arrive late, there's no hope for you since the Xenos become stronger, once they arrived at 13:00 so you have to be lucky.
There is also a small possibility that its a predator round and he finds you and protects you until the marines arrive which is possible so you just need good luck and that's all, and pray a lot in a hiding spot...

I found fortifying the place with guns and ammo or a place close to that is the best option. Weld vents or rip out pipes too.

I honestly wish we had way more survivor slots. Its challenging but you can do way more intersting things because you can set up anywhere and aren't dealing with an army of T3s
Also just has a way cooler feeling, using your wits to survive.

Re: How surviving with Survivor?
There are very few ways to win as survivor. Here are some.
- Usually hiding in a locker or some thing that can keep you hidden usually has the highest chance of you surviving (As long as you don't make it obvious that a survivor was there, like welding doors leading into the building or hiding in a body bag in the middle of a room). However, this is usually the most boring as you are literally just sitting in one location hoping that the xenos don't check that locker.
- Another way to survive would be to meet up with others, gather supplies, and hunker down in one location. An area where there is a good chokepoint to bottleneck the xenos into which would not allow a xeno to throw some acid down on the barricade without taking a load of fire from the survivors. This area also must be able to withstand some acid melting from the sides for some time until the marines either arrive or on the verge of arriving which at that point, if you have no heavy armour slowing you down, you can make a dash to one of the landing zones where the marines will be landing. This usually can result in mixed results as all xenos can converge on your location and things might end up horribly or you can hold out long enough for reinforcements.
- If you however wish to stick it alone/ cannot find anyone else or just have a partner and don't wish to hide. You can always find a secluded area where barely anyone visits and fortify it while ensuring that the vents are either welded or disconnected. This usually will lead to you surviving longer but if the xenos discover you, your defences might be easily overwhelmed due to lack of supplies, lack of arms, or simply a crap ton of tough xenos coming down on you.
- Another strategy that has been offered and used in the past is simply acting as a mobile fire team. If you can group up and get equipped with as much ammunition and firepower, you might be able to pose a massive threat to the xenos in the early games as a shotgun or an SMG would punch through most of the xenos' health. You can continue to do this until either you are out of ammunition and are then forced to fall back, dead, or until the marines arrive to support you. I however do not recommend this risky strategy as it needs a lot of coordination and certain requirements to be met.
- This isn't a tactic to survive the first 25 (Or 30 depending on how bad the marines are at preparing) minutes but more like getting you through the final stretch of those few minutes. When unarmoured or encumbered by bulky and heavy armour, you can avoid most xenos by just outrunning them. You can dissuade the xenos that can keep up with you with a few gunshots as it'll make them a bit more wary of trying to get a potentially dangerous victim that can murder them.

Re: How surviving with Survivor?
here's a pro tactic on surviving as a survivor on multiple maps
LZ 624 - Go into the corporate dome and hiding in a locker. otherwise, cade up in security but you most likely will get captured there.
Big Red - Find the most secluded locker ever on the map and hop in it. 6 times outta 10 you won't be found. NEVER go into lockers in engineering. if you choose to cade up do it in the caves north lz1. a lot of times Xenos don't check there. but try and find a few friends to join you as if you do get found alone. it won't be pretty. by the time they hear the ds1, most Xenos would scramble to get back into the caves with maybe two or three Xenos staying to see if they can get you.
Ice - Yeah no way. the best chance to survive is going all the way NW and cade down there. after about 30 to 40 minutes you can TRY to make a mad dash to maybe bar or comms to get found or stay put.
Prison - Wardens office.
These are my tactics on surviving on different maps.

Re: How surviving with Survivor?
Only once... -ONCE-... Did I survive on Ice. And that was because I found two other survivors. We all had shotguns, and we kept on the move the entire time, running all over the damn colony. In the end, we were trapped at LZ one, because the xenos were smart enough to pen us in. The survivor who saved our asses was killed at the last moment, while us two were dodging tackles. Then, the Marines came down.
In essence? Survival on Ice, in my opinion, depends entirely upon using the massive size of the map to your advantage. Keep on the move, and be sure to memorize alternative routes.

roll with me or alfonso garbonso, sometimes hayden if youre lucky, i dont see him often
alfonso is a meme of a dude who is notorious for killing good portions of xenos, you could, also, DM me over discord if you need help Iceshadow#6437
surviving is much different with the introduction of warriors who can lunge-grab over cades and just hold you their as they break their skull and considering their immense tankiness? yea, good one on that one devs, im still waiting for the hot-fix. the new class of xenos are literally too tanky for considering that they're just better hunters, damage and health/armor wise.
make use of your survivor skillset, you can do just about everything with slight exceptions, said exceptions being plasteel cades (unless you roll engineer survivor) using sleepers/meds instantly (unless you roll medical survivor) or even security equipment (unless you roll marshall)

Re: How surviving with Survivor?
Generally, if you can get another survivor to put you in a locker and lock it then you're safe. The xeno meta ignores locked lockers seeing as they think it hasn't been opened yet. The only issue is getting out, you may need a marine to shoot it open.

Re: How surviving with Survivor?
The only luck I've had as a survivor was because Xenos want to capture you instead of murder for more facehugger babies, so I just crowbared the hunter chasing me for ten minutes but eventually died. So yeah not too good, my only tip is either hide in a closet and pray to space american jesus or act like a cornered animal and smash the shit out of everything moving in your little safe spot.
Did you ever hear the tragedy of Elder Empress The Wise? I thought not. It's not a story the Marines would tell you. It's a Xeno legend. Elder Empress was an old queen of the xenomorph, so powerful and so wise she could use the plasma to influence all aliens to create life… She had such a knowledge of the xeno side that she could even keep the ones she cared about from dying. The xenomorph side of the world is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. She became so powerful… the only thing she was afraid of was losing her power, which eventually, of course, she did. Unfortunately, she taught her daughters everything she knew, then her daughters bodyblocked her in her retreat. Ironic. She could save others from death, but not herself.

-Go to a isolated location, preferably with a corner.
-barricade the shit out of it.
-(die?)
-Marines save you.
So: Survivors, in combat, can be tough in numbers. Try to find some buddies, guns, mats and hold somewhere that is easy to defend. Unleash hell on the xenos if they try to penetrate your fort.

Re: How surviving with Survivor?
Don't fortify. There are basically only 2 outcomes to it.
1: A xeno wanders up while you're fortifying, spots you, and then calls literally every other xeno over to that spot where they hopelessly swamp you and murder you.
2: The xenos either don't spot you or spot you and decide that you're too well fortified to bother with. Either way, you sit there doing nothing for 30 minutes, get sent upstairs and spend the rest of the round getting bullied by MPs.
The first outcome results in you ultradying well before the marines show up, and you'll rarely have any significant impact on the round. You're not going to kill any of them unless they're real dumb. Second outcome is literally nothing happens and you might as well not have played.
Instead, just roam around. A couple of survivors with scrounged guns can pick off lone xenos who are usually cocky enough to try and go for them because they expect survivors to be free food. They'll also have a much harder time swamping you as long as you don't let yourself get stalked. Your round will be a lot more interesting this way, although you're not really more likely to actually live.
