Assuming she survived to retirement, Kestrel would head back to Earth and sign up at the local gym as a trainer. Motivating people to get fit, hoo rah!

Her mother Klaasje would sign on with Wey-Yu as a security consultant, helping make sure their properties are defensible against overt and covert threats.

Assuming that the Almayer's xeno incident is inevitable, a few different ones based on the outcome.

1. Death (most common)

2. Escape of takeover/SD leading to severe disillusionment and possibly defection to CLF if the possibility arose.

3. Winning:

Either by a steamroll, which wouldn't change much since I would think 'bug hunts' where marines just squish weird dumb alien creatures that act as a nuisance for colonies would be common in a world where FTL and terraforming technology is common. Rooder would probably just keep working to get his discharge and end up back in the criminal world somehow or another.

Or, through an arduous and harrowing battle, especially one that reaches the Almayer. In that case, I think the survivor/hero factor would change a lot of things. My only worry is if W-Y would really allow the Almayer survivors to live given what they'd know about xenomorph intelligence and the source of the outbreak.

Hm, what an interesting question.

Since Hans served in the corps already most of his life, he might sneak up the ranks even further as the years go by and his hair starts getting whiter and whiter. I can imagine him getting a XO somewhere and finally putting the cane in the XOs quaters to a use. He will then think about his good old times with the Charlie squad while wondering what his old squadmates might be doing by then. If he has to leave the Corps at some point, he will eventually head home, to earth and southern germany. Visiting his families graves after all the years and settling down while trying to track down the germans he used to know back in the time for a slow, slooow visit.

Frankie probably doesn't make it out due his luck running dry. If by some miracle he does, and he's on his own, probably a mercenary of some sort running safe jobs. He'll probably stay on the move without settling down, no matter what he does, ending washed up somewhere.
More likely, though, he'll hit up one of his contacts from his time in the USCM and ask to be hooked up with a job. What job that is probably depends on who he talks to.

Going back to a life of crime is probably more trouble than it's worth now that his old contacts are dead and gone, so Aleric's likely to go private sector. Some cushy job with the Wey-Yu PMC if possible, or just a freelancer group if not. No sense wasting the skills he picked up in the Corps.
