I legitimately don’t see much of a problem with devouring. Perhaps the specific mechanics behind it might be odd, such as escaping/damage dealing. Though balance is an always changing mechanic. It’ll be worked out over time.

As for thematically and people calling it vore. I really think you guys are making a bigger deal out of it than it is. It’s a videogame about 20 foot tall monsters with blades for arms flying space ships. Devouring is more realistic than 20 other features we have.

Also slightly related, here’s a fun fact from Masked. Did you know most social and hive insects have a seperate social stomach that’s entire purpose is transporting food back to the colony and others? So besides the size shenanigans it’s not that unbelievable for a giant hive bug beast.

If I understood the threat correctly, people are taking issue with xenos devouring marines and then not regurgitating them, essentially removing them from the round instantly despite them still being alive because you no longer die inside a xeno's stomach.

In that case I feel like Xeno guts should do more damage to at least offset using it to meme people entirely for more than a couple minutes. Toxins, Burn. /shrug.

Give marines an option to hit resist. Same timer as the resist timer when breaking free from a nest. Once they hit resist again the xeno starts taking rapid damage. If an ayyy can't move you in the time it takes for someone to break out of a nest they're not trying to get you to the hive.

I would agree that if the xeno is not trying to move you and is just instead trying to remove you from the round, they should be penalised for using such a cheap tactic.

In a round about a week ago, I was devoured by a crushed who charged towards the alien base, then regurgitated me back up, immediately stunned me via spam clicking and then devoured me again until I was in the hive.

I was slightly passed off I couldn't do anything throughout but you know game changes.

Any xeno who puts an alive marine inside themselves should take massive and rapid damage after 30 or so seconds, I feel anything else is power gaming that is pro xeno

Thirty seconds is rarely going to be enough time to get a marine from the frontlines to the nest. I'd prefer to see the marine damage from resisting increased drastically. As it stands, you can survive if you have a queen's healing pheromones on you, and warding seems to reduce it as well.

Resist damage should be scaled depending on the xeno.
It makes sense that a T1 would take much more damage from a resisting marine than a T3, with the size difference and all that.
