Getting Healed by Nests?

Post by Royal Griffon » 06 Jul 2018, 01:38

Does anyone else get healed by nests? Or like stabilized by them constantly? I usually end up from paincrit to almost perfectly fine after I get nested and such which is kind of funny cause I 80% of the time escape and cause havoc in the hive.
I'm just curious cause, I've been told some people NEVER get healed by nests, but I usually find that nests have a sort of healing factor almost to them and can stabilize many wounds.

Yep, you can easly see it when you have "problem with keeping eyes open". There was a round when I got captured and monitor was "blinking" once about half a minute: Foggy vision - Normal - Foggy - Normal (No meds/no broken bones, bleeding, brute and "fire" damage).
It makes sense that devs wanted to boost larva rates from captured. It's really hard to die in a nest from low to medium wounds.

usually, Crushers and boilers are retarded and stomp/acid spray you before you get nested which means you'll probably die. So nests need this feature.

It really pisses me off. If you wanna capture someone, don't cripple them to the point where they die. A stomp is RNG, it's not guaranteed to damage a person to the point where they can't escape. It'll more likely just kill them in the first stage. Same with acid spray, it does so much damage that two sprays can kill you if you're in them for long enough.

Yep, it's one of those small things that remove punishment for stupid and incompetent aliens. irritating as hell.

It's hard enough capturing marines intact as it is.

Literally what? Carriers exist for this reason. Warriors and Runners can pounce and perma-stun via disarms. I've seen marines get spit and dragged off in the middle of a firefight.

The biggest obstacle to capturing marines alive are other xenos. They love to score a kill, even if that kill is the captured marine you risked yourself to get without harming.

I like the healing cause if the damn crusher isn't braindead and stops trying to stomp me and literally chases me and the runner from the frontlines to the nest, I can escape very easily and I have caused hell in the nest and have even taken a few swings at the queen.

1000% true. This became a massive issue when the new warriors/defenders came out. It got to the point where I'd capture someone in perfect condition and then a warrior would lunge them and tear their head off, even if the Queen was telling everyone to capture.

Yeah it's kind of annoying. I got FF'd (what a shock right) in a round and then captured subsequently. I was confident that the gaping hole in one of my lungs plus a smattering of other injuries would be enough to put me down. Granted, I'm no medical expert, so maybe something like that is entirely survivable, but it seemed like the sort of thing that should be at least eventually fatal. The nest kept me perfectly stable, though, just injured enough to not be able to do anything except ghost and call it a round.

Yep, happens constantly. Even when the marine is infected amd far from the front.

Xenos used to practice soft cutting, trying to keep you in paincrit but stable so they wouldn't have to watch you. Nests do that for them now.

The nest should either heal you out of paincrit or not all. It's bad enough the devour bug prevents marines from being able to escape devours is in effect, but being repeatedly stunned/critted in a nest isn't fun for anyone.

It doesn’t have a healing factor.

Marines naturally heal at a slow rate. You’ll still die from blood loss if you’re bleeding or have IB - but if you’ve got burns the infection doesn’t set in fast enough to kill you while you’re nested.
