Eh. I'll keep watching to try to form a more accurate opinion, as what you three are describing conflicts with what I and others have observed. Need a larger sample, I guess.

Could be when we're playing as well. Before, when the Queen was selected she could move around, lay eggs, etc. she could help structure her Hive. Now she has to rely on other players. I’d love to see the Ovi be optional for evolution so that Queens can be better balanced.

That’ll probably never happen, though.

I think Feweh himself implied that the idea behind a deovied queen would be as a sort of "final boss", the last resort when her hive is in danger. Otherwise they should be encouraged to remain in ovi and coordinate (and buff) their hive.

If anything, I'd rather have more benefits for queens IN ovi, give her more tactical powers, encourage a more strategic mindset over brute force. But of course, that is just me.

I agree. Right now her abilities are garbage when the Hive is being attacked. I proposed a few changes that'd make her stronger in Ovi and give her an active role in the round beyond clicking heal every 30 seconds when necessary.

Right, this is being closed due to people turning this into a completely unneeded shitting on specific people. This is why we can't have nice things.

As for the "Every time the Marines win it's meta!" thing people toss around, the reason we tell people not to just steamroll into the hive is because we don't want 30-45 minute rounds every game. These kinds of rounds only novel because they specifically don't happen every round. There's a general time we aim for when it comes to round lengths, which literally every game in the world has a general length of time they aim for. We enforce this as an OOC thing because Dev's don't have the time to keep every issue of meta-rushing sealed off. We all give our time freely and Devs want to make new features for the game, not just limit our map design because some people want to b-line to the hive with the attempt to wipe it. We like to just trust players will try to do the best thing for the round but if it's felt the round was not of enjoyment (going for both Xeno and Marine victory), we will ask people not to do something like that again. It's either treated as an OOC problem or we'll just have to add IC limits on the game.
