If you die from an OB..
you are absolutely retarded. With the new update that gives you well over ten seconds and a big impending noise of an incoming bombardment, there is no reason either a xeno or marine should be dying to it, convince me otherwise.
unless you walk into a zone that is about to bombed before you were close enough to have the OB sound play for you
If you die to an OB that was properly called in on targets, you should feel bad about yourself and should be blaming no one else.

Re: If you die from an OB..
As an SO, I'm gonna take the defensive side, as it usually goes like this;
SL:"SO, OB at x long y lat!"
SL:"RIGHT NOW!"
SO:"Confirm, x long y lat?"
SL:"Affirm!"
*Marines push in*
*OB drops on them*
Dchat:"SO sucks, command is full of teamkillers."

I play as Michael 'Fritz' Fitzgerald. You've never heard of him and probably never will, as I'm usually only on during lowpop hours.

Yeah unless you are deaf. I also always enjoy listenning at SL saying PO/SO can't aim.

Re: If you die from an OB..
I feel like complaints over CAS/OB kinda suck. There was way cheesier ways to die and all you get to see is the inside of a xenos stomach when those happen.
One of my favorite moments in this game was right after incendiary and cluster OBs got put in and people didn't quite understand how spread out the cluster bombs can get. SL set up an OB right outside Lambda Lab (before they were replaced with the laser) and we all just sat right by the podlock tunnel waiting for our opportunity to rush in before about 4 of the cluster bombs smacked right into our group.

Re: If you die from an OB..
I used to be able to offset OBs. Now I have STEALTH OBs REEE.
ON the flip side, I can't blame the SO now. It is always the SLs fault unless SOMEHOW the SO managed to put in the wrong coords.

Re: If you die from an OB..
What do you mean by stealth OBs? The area you call an OB on emits a loud WHOOSH noise that last 10-15 seconds and gets progressively louder until impact, hence this post. It's so long, loud and obvious you would have to be stupid to get hit by it.

Re: If you die from an OB..
You gotta love how when leads would mark areas for CAS to hit, and five seconds later after you fire they're like "OMG PO YOU RETARD YOU JUST BLEW US ALL UP."
Like, YOU MARKED IT. Why THE FUCK would you mark friendlies and then shit on the Pilots for it?
I had a round where Charlie Lead (dunno who the FUCK it was) lased the Longstreet on Big Red with marines near it and had us fire. Dunno if he was that fucking stupid, or purposely did it. Anyways, we fire a Fatty and some Incin to finish the job. Longstreet is beyond fucked and several marines get memed. Marines are forced to fall back. Commander asks for the PILOTS who fired CAS, rather than the Lead who marked the target, noting the POs could not see what they were firing at. I try taking sole blame for the incident instead of having three POs go up because I could smell a BE from a mile away, and was not going to lose 2-3 POs because a SL was fucking idiotic.
CO goes on to BE me and another pilot. Charlie Lead never has a word said to them despite me explaining that HE LASED IT.
I was... very confused and pissed off, and have barely touched the PO role since then, even with various updates and upgrades.

You know what I mean.
The WHOOSH is virtually the same thing the old version of the beacon's BEEPing.
The difference is that you can now get coords for a OB without being five feet away from your OB location. Furthermore, there is no physical object the xenos can go, "I should avoid that." Instead, I could get the coords for 4 areas and OB any one of them at will.
So yeah, the massive shell still emits a sound but now the enemy can't see completely WHERE it'll hit or even if one is in play UNTIL the sound goes off for that miniscule 5-10 seconds or so.
From what I've seen, xenos are stupid enough to be hit by it and the fact it isn't a material object makes it much more stealthy then before. Asides from the noise which honestly is very similar to the previous whole beeping shit that told xenos when the OB that was placed would be going off.

Re: If you die from an OB..
if you mentioned the fact that you couldnt see the target and the SL was the one lasing and he still wanted to BE you, that prob would have been time to ahelp, also unless they had evidence you intentionally bombed friendlies then that was a shit reason to BEAmazinglyAmazing wrote: ↑26 Aug 2018, 02:47You gotta love how when leads would mark areas for CAS to hit, and five seconds later after you fire they're like "OMG PO YOU RETARD YOU JUST BLEW US ALL UP."

Just make the OB sound file the same as the mortar sound file, problem solved. Incoming shells are incoming shells, why would you distinguish them other than for a gamer logic reason.
