I agree with the railroading part, giving players an alternative to self-destruct at the first sign of danger may be a better option. Simply forcing them to accept defeat, kill themselves in a draw or try to rambo and get a major doesn't seem like a great selection of choices.

This seems a little bit entitled to be honest, the xeno team is generally regarded as combat focused but RP is possible, you just have to find the right xeno to RP with, maybe between a boiler and a defender since they tend to stay near eachother. A name will not encourage roleplay in my opinion, if you can't roleplay with 'Lurker 239' then you're not going to roleplay with 'Slasher'.

One problem I do see is that now there aren't any ladders at the very front of the ship connecting the very front of the ship, were the OB is to the brig. Now I could be wrong as I just glanced at it while Ghosting.

Giving the playerbase the ability to recognize and build bonds with each other is no small thing. Most other multiplayer games jump through hoops to facillitate the building of player relations because, as is always the case, if you know you're playing with someone who you know and enjoy you're going to enjoy the game even further.
Also, "entitled" is a pretty ridiculous claim to make about adding such an inconsequential thing that literally already exists for a huge portion of the playerbase. If THAT'S entitled then we have to apply that same standard to everything else people ask for or complain about on here.

I think it's a quick fix for finishing rounds faster to hold over until the endgame is reworked.

Apart from SD not even working at all, the timer is pure ass. Legit the worst decision to date, and I include Day 1 warriors in that. I prefer 7 hour rounds over this anticlimactic POS.

map and SD changes are cool and all, but are we just gonna ignore the whole twins/triplets thing ? seems like a pretty solid xeno buff to me.

Hey good on ya for posting that, ill save a copy.
Yet to play a round of CMP to check out the new brig layout properly, but i actually like the look of it and it appears to look like a more functional/logical brig, especially in the event of mutines. Also Spooky said in-game that the layout change was a prelude to some sort of mutiny changes, which could also tie into the SD/Alamayer last stand changes side of things if there is infact any coming.
I feel a few big changes coming.

What twins and triplets are you referring to?

"It was a fantastic round. If the CO hadn't cryo'ed before the end I'd have bothered him to give at least two more medals. To PFC Max Dallas, who kept doing the path between the frontlines to FOB (the only place with medical aid) with a roller bed, and saved a lot of marines who'd have husked otherwise. And to Dr. Haley Altman, who after all medics were gone was fixing us time and again for hours straight. At the end there were over 10 patients around her either dead or in crit, and she just kept going."

From what I can see, the chances are so slim it may as well not even be a change

Ohh yeah i thought i heard something about that, so theres a chance for more than one larva to burst from a single host!?
Pretty cool.

Not sure how I feel about the SD change, will need to play a few more rounds. BUt was there really an issue with round length? A 22min auto-win for marines seems a bit much as much as I love my ship defenses.

Strict 22 minute timer is interesting.
I like the change that escape pods and SD arm instantly. If we could also maybe get an instant ERT with composition somewhat based on the xeno / marine ratio, that might be ideal. That means you waste no time bunkering up in CIC waiting for enough people to die so you can call an evac and so on.
On the flip side, 22 minute timer means both sides will probably be rushing SD - Marines to secure it and be able to blow it up, xenos to turn it off. While "xenos can't meta", if they don't go for the SD early on, they might just run out of time. And since SD is activated straight away rather than after enough Marines die plus manual activation, that means you will want to make SD your priority.
Also, if you're one of the last xenos out there, you can troll marines by hiding somewhere deep and force the xeno minor. I know a spot or two nobody would find you in 20 minutes, so I'd expect a few rounds to end like that...
I'll have to see how the end games play out now, but I'm a bit iffy on the change.

The whole "SD and evac triggered immediately upon Alamo crash" has been buggy since it was introduced now. It was supposed to do just this, forcing an end game, but because it's bugged and the console in CIC for ERT still has the shitty "threat level not enough" thing, the whole thing was just the same, not a change was to be had.
Now, if we really want to change the end game, just make it so that once Alamo crashes, everyone on the Almayer just fucking dies.
1, this helps with the "meta retreat" with 70 marines
2, this just prevents the boring ladder camp between both sides.

Think it cuts down on CO playstyles as well as hindering chances for interesting RP. Staff could just take a more hands on approach to perceived delaying instead of forcing the rounds to end via a broken mechanic.
This Larva update is also just...it's the last buff any xeno player wanted.

is this thing about humans having chance to burst extra larva a possible replacement strategy for the current burrowed larva system?

As far as the larva buff, I wont really speculate on high pop since I only play on low pop, but basically it does nothing for low pop at all. If anything it makes low pop worse because now they wont give xenos more power because there are theoretically more xenos. Low pop xenos never fill the larva they currently have so they sure wont fill any extra larva.

well said kastion, and if this is meant to encourage more kamikaze wave tactics by providing more extra lives, that doesnt work out well either because young xenos are so inferior to aged and evolved ones

I really don't like the automatic self destruct railroading. It takes away the sandbox nature of the game, and boxes you in to using a very finite amount of strategy and tactics.
Everything else is cool, but the SD stuff is not.

so far double evo is a massive boost to xenos. may be time to re enable the tank to even up the odds imo.

yes, maybe it's time for the tank to come back. Or for damage to be amped, to counter having to fight mature ravagers when you touch the ground

Gathering from the last few posts, im going to be camping, about to jump on now.
Has the pendulum swung too far the other way, are the marines getting stomped?
I was playing not that long ago, hours ago, and now your saying bring the tank back, surely your exaggerating!
